The Undoing of Saint Silvanius by Beth Moore
“You may have heard of author Beth Moore before, but this is her fictional debut. Chapter 2 reads
‘the end of a seemingly “wasted” life cannot erase complexity, or connection, or jagged history in the lives of those
who remain – even if they want it to.’ Jillian boards a plane to New Orleans from California after finding out that
the father she never knew had finally drunk himself to death. A second story about the building and rebuilding of
the church is told throughout the main story. Walking into a web of spiritual and personal danger, borne out of her
family’s broken history, Jillian and finds out that only God himself can orchestrate the undoing of all that is going on
at Saint Silvanus.”
Healed by Grace DVD (not rated, 111 minutes)
This is a family friendly movie that will appeal to a younger audience. Riley Adams is a Christian girl who dreams
of becoming a world-class dancer. She goes far toward realizing her dream but a tragic event changes the course of
her life. She is determined to recover and get back to her dancing but realizes that she can’t go back, and must look
forward instead. She questions God about the accident but later is able to see that good has come from what
appeared bad.
The church library is open on Sunday mornings between services, and again after second service.
If you are a follower of Jesus and have never made a
public expression of your faith through baptism,
we encourage you to take that step! Applications and
sign-ups are on the lobby counters. Pastor David will
teach a Baptism Class on March 19 at 9:00am in the
conference room. Please contact the church office
with any further questions.
