Many blessings to Sara Anable and her incredi-

ble crew of helpers who made the week a

success, as well as everyone who donated schol-

arships, food items and funds to make Vacation

Bible School a wonderful experience. We had

40 children attend. $200 will go to Food Share

as a gift to our community from half of the VBS

registration fees.

Thank you, Bob Chapman, for

providing these photos.

for donations to support:

Farmer Producer Organization (FPO)

Junior College Program

Checks can be written to “UPC” and note BIRDS

in the memo line.

ELECTION OF CHURCH OFFICERS Electing members to the office of elder and deacon is the responsibility of the congregation. The calling to be a church officer is a calling not to privilege, but to service. Names offered for consideration need to be based on an individual’s proven commitment to Jesus Christ and his church. Clear evidence of the person’s involve-ment in the life of the congregation is critical. Prayer and care should be taken in suggesting names for con-sideration by the nominating committee. Those currently serving as church officers are listed below. Note: Elders and deacons may not be re-elected to the same office for a period of one year following the end of a second consecutive term of office.

for children to shop for their family members. Questions? See Liisa Reid or call

Godly Play worship will resume

on Sunday, August 26. Each week children will continue their worship with sacred stories and time to think deeply and ex-plore God’s story for their lives. We are in need of an additional Storyteller and Greeter in each class (ages 3-2nd grade and grade 3-5) who are able to spend one Sunday a month worshipping with children.

Blessing of the Backpacks and Teacher Commissioning will take place on Sunday,

September 9. We will be blessing our Godly Play teachers at this time as well. This is a special opportunity to pray for our children and teachers as they begin a new school year.
