2/2013

The next season of the KOMPOZYT-EXPO® Trade Fair, the only composite-focused event in Poland, is ap-proaching fast.

The 21st and 22nd of November 2013 are certainly the dates to remember for those interested in the presentation of the latest trends and news from the world of composites, unlimited opportunities to exchange experiences and unique opportunities to establish excellent business contacts in the unforget-table atmosphere of Kraków. These are only some of the assets of the trade fair, visited by many Polish exhibitors but also guests from the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Switzerland, Great Britain, Italy and even China and Brazil!

We are continually working on the trade fair’s programme and the schedule of the Technical Presentations Zone. As usual, each participant of the fair will be able to take part in a carefully planned programme of numerous conferences and seminars, but we have also arranged for a mini-factory for you to visit. It is thanks to the involvement of CL Sp. z o.o., MASTERMODEL, PHOENIX EQUIP-MENT, ALLCOMP Sp. z o.o. that we will be able to present you with the full process of manufacturing composite products in closed moulds by the LRTM – Light Resin Transfer Moulding method – from the design to the fi nished product, which will undoubtedly be the highlight of our exhibition.

This year’s KOMPOZYT-EXPO® trade fair will also be visited by representatives of the German composites industry: from Institut für Leichtbau und Kunst-stofftechnik (ILK) TU Dresden, Fraunhofer Angewandte Mikroelektronik und Nanotechnologie Institut, Dresden Center of Nanoanalysis (DCN), Leichbau Zentrum Sachen (LZS) and LSK Korropol Leichtbau Systemtechnologien. A group of companies from the highly industrially developed region of Saxony will promote its achievements, the region and seek partners in our country. For more details please see our bulletin.

There are many reasons why Polish entrepreneurs who wish to enter interna-tional markets need to reserve the 21st and 22nd of November for a manda-tory stay in Kraków, and some of them are discussed in the next issue of our newsletter.

We hope you will enjoy the read.

KOMPOZYT-EXPO®

– an event to be rememberedLadiesand gentlemen,

This is our fourth meeting within the KOMPOZYT-EXPO® trade fair held in Kraków. At the fi rst meeting we en-tered into the world of modern mate-rials that composites certainly are, at the second and third we expanded on the range of our guests by in-viting designers, producers, component producers and also students and scientists. The main advantage of the fourth trade fair will be the opportunity to participate in the meeting of scientists and future engineers with producers and managers. We are all aware that any success in this sphere can be only the result of close cooperation be-tween the two groups. The time has come for stability and sustained balance, from design to recycling. Within our search for new forms it seems necessary to organize a number of specifi c theme-based mini-conferences and promote universities and specifi c faculties whose studies relate to composites.

On behalf of the Trade Fair’s Scientifi c Board I issue a wholehearted invitation to all of you, hoping that you will fi nd new inspiration at the KOMPOZYT-EXPO® in regard to both manufacturing and application technologies..

A WORLD CLASS CENTRE

EXPO Krakow will be one of the most modern trade fair and congress centers in the country. Its two main advantages are multifunctionality and ideal location on the maps of both Europe and Kraków. The centre’s location is close to the city’s cir-cular road and A4 motorway, providing for an easy access from the city centre, main railway station and the Balice airport.

In addition to the two large halls, our clients will be able to enjoy a number of air-conditioned, modular confer-ence rooms allowing for any combina-tion suited to specifi c requirements, 4 meeting rooms, a spacious lobby and a restaurant. It will also be possible to provide for outdoor exhibitions. There are plans to build a 700-place car park next to the centre.

According to the agreement signed with the contractor RE-Bau the facility is to be commis-sioned in Spring 2014.

MINI FACTORY IN THE TRADE FAIR HALLThe KOMPOZYT-EXPO® Trade Fair is a great, huge platform for information exchange. Apart from a chance to build precious business network, each Trade Fair participant may take part in a carefully planned professional section of the additional programme. A major attraction of this year’s fair will be a special exhibition zone where the entire process of producing composite forms – from a design to the ready-made product – will be shown (the forms will be vacuum closed in the RTM – Resin Transfer Mould technology). Thanks to the involvement of four companies: C-L Sp. z o.o., MASTER MODEL, PHOENIX, ALLCOMP, the possibility of precise design of elements using the Unicut software by Optitex will be presented.

The modules used will include: 3D Flattening – allows transforming the 3D form into 2D crystals, PDS – enabling shape correction and Nest ++ – optimizing the cuts, thereby generating the big-gest material savings possible. Fast and precise cut of the designed shapes is possible thanks to the Cutter Unicut 3C50 Composite device. Subsequently, using the RTM technology, aesthetic and du-rable composite forms will be created. The presentation will end with a display of the fi nal product.
