From 1ST January 2011 all new cars recently approved will be using the R1234yf as a refrigerant for air conditioning systems on the basis on an EEC regulation.

DISTINGUISHING MARKS

As mentioned, the technological solutions that cha-racterize the new KONFORT SERIES 700stations inclu-de eight international patents that make these machi-nes unique and inimitable.

- Possibility of using either R134a or R1234yf gas.

The charging station equipped with 134a gas can be modified to be used with R1234yf gas (and vice versa) at any time, using the appropriate kit.

- High – sensitivity gas weighing system

The solution for weighing the refrigerant designed and patented by TEXA consists of an electronically controlled system of the flatness of the floor to elimi-nate the risk of measuring errors.

- Sealed oil bottles The oil bottles designed and patented by TEXA are sealed and prevent the humidity from contaminating the oil. This solution makes sure that the various com-ponents and the vehicle system work correctly over time.

- Compatibility with the use of various types of oil.

The control system (check of the type of oil) and the cleaning system (washing of the internal circuit of the charging station) which are part of the KONFORT char-ging stations will prevent any contamination between the different oils used in the vehicle systems (such as POE or PAG).

- Accurate oil weighing system even over time.

The hanging device for the oil bottles helps keep down the mechanical stress on the delicate load cells and makes sure it works well over time, even if used very frequently, which is what happens in modern workshops.

- Refrigerant Analysis Kit

The automatic recognition system allows the refrige-rant removed to prevent damage caused by contami-nation between the two different refrigerants (R134a and R1234yf ) by stopping the machine as soon as they happen to mix up.


- Flushing kit

KONFORT 720R

A BASIC VERSION READY FOR CHANGE

This AC service station is the standard version within the 700R range for service and maintenance opera-tions on all car, commercial, industrial vehicle and agri-cultural vehicles. As with the other specific models, the KONFORT 720R allows the technician to work effi-ciently on both current and future generation of vehi-cles making this unit a rea-sonably priced investment.

The KONFORT 720R may be purchased for R134a or for the variant R1234yf with the same price for both. The user can decide at any time to change the unit from R134a, to the new R1234yf refrigerant. A special conversion kit is available to carry out this procedure.The service station is equipped with a 12 Kg internal reservoir which guarantees good performance for any

service and maintenance with a 100 litre/min dual sta-ge vacuum pump with a 12 cc hermetic compressor. Although this is an “entry level” unit, the KONFORT 720R is equipped with automatic recovery, refrigerant recycling as well as oil separation. It automatically ma-nages all these service operations via the programma-ble operation software.The quantity of oil and UV tracer is controlled by an automatic valve system which leaves the technician with only a few simple manual operations. The technician’s procedure is supported by the infor-mation within the database which is easily accessible and constantly updated (via the unit’s SD Card). The data may be viewed in real time on the high visibility LCD display. The gauges and display can revolve for

improved visibility under any condition (except for Germany). The KONFORT 720R may be personalised dependant on each workshops specific requirement, by purchasing accessories such as the VDC kit for va-riable displacement compressor checks, the flushing kit leaning the internal components of the AC system and the climate control efficiency kit for a quick system performance check.

KONFORT 760R

THE NEW GENERATION PREPARED FOR THE FUTURE

The KONFORT 760R service station is dedicated to the technician who requires a service station which can of-fer more options. As with the 720R, the KONFORT 760R is compatible with R134a or R1234yf and can be easily converted to use R134a to R1234yf with the relative kit. When using this unit, the colour TFT Display will be immediately noticed, and which has evolutionary graphics. This displays the various operation phases of the unit via images and bullet points. The internal storage reservoir guarantees an excellent functionality thanks to a large 20 Kg capacity. It is important to highlight that this unit provides com-pletely automated management of the entire service without the need of manual taps. This minimises the

time required by the technician during the operation (increasing workshop profitability). Besides having been optimised with regards to operational precision in order to comply with the rigorous automotive requi-rements, the 760R model also offers further revolutio-nary functions. The first of which is related to the sealed oil bottles which avoid any moisture contamination and automatic bottle recognition to avoid cross conta-mination between the AC system’s oil during the servi-ce phase. The scale locking/unlocking system (not present in the 720R model) is very important, as this protects the sen-sitive refrigerant measurement system during move-ment of the machine around the workshop and ensures excellent precision. Furthermore, this model provides a

special automatic check system for the measurement of the refrigerant which is patent pending by TEXA and allows a 20% improvement in recharge accuracy compared to the original measurement system, which is usually used within all recharge stations currently on the market. The 760R can also be upgrade to use all options that are available for the 720R as well as with the new refrigerant analysis KIT.

KONFORT 770S

The KONFORT 770S service station is the top model of the 700 series is intended for professional use and equipped with special technical features.

Developed in cooperation with TUV Rheinland, this version implements unique technological solutions in accordance with the specifications imposed by the VDA group (Verband der Automobilindustrie) in terms of safety, reliability and performance.KONFORT 770S is equipped with an automatic system for leakage control, combined with pressure gauges Certified EN837 Class 1.The performance of the scales of the refrigerant gas includes the latest technical features that ensure high accuracy at all temperatures, with a maximum error of

15 gr. With regard to the safety devices, a micro-switch system automatically stops the voltage of the compo-nents as soon as the space for the inspection of the charging station is opened.In this way, the mechanic who intervenes on the ma-chine to make adjustments or minor maintenance, does not risk undergoing any electric shock.On the control panel, then, an emergency stop button has been installed to switch off the machine and the-refore all processes going on.KONFORT 770S is equipped with color TFT display with high visibility and management of all maintenan-ce service is completely automated. The tank capacity holding 20 kg matches to the lock/unlock scales devi-ce, the automatic control of accuracy in the measure-

KONFORT 760R BUS

FOR SERVICING LARGER SYSTEMS

The KONFORT 760R BUS service station has been spe-cifically developed to function on “larger climate con-trol systems” as used within Coaches and Buses and other such vehicles types where high volume AC sy-stems are required. These systems have a much larger capacity compared to any other vehicles, and require a much more spe-cialised service station. It is due to this fact that the KONFORT 760R BUS has been developed and introdu-ced to meet the special requirements of “heavy duty” vehicle AC Climate control systems. The BUS version shares all the features of the “standard” 760R but is equipped with a larger 30 kg reservoir and a 21 cc compressor for efficient refrigerant recovery on such large vehicle systems. It is also equipped with

a dual stage 146 litre/min vacuum pump which is able to generate a deep pression vacuum of 0.030 mbar. All its other features are the same as the standard ver-sion. It is an advanced product which is compatible with both types of refrigerant (R134a and R1234yf ); it offers innovative functions such as the sealed anti contamination oil bottles, automatic oil bottle detec-tion and automatic refrigerant measurement preci-sion check as with all the KONFORT range. Anyone working on these particular types of vehicles will have the opportunity to take advantage of these new technologies, as the additional advantage ofadopting a completely automated service process

AUTOMATION, INFORMATION AND MUCH MORE

The operating software system which manages the new KONFORT functions is completely new and is, wi-thout a doubt, a state of the art product. As per all the previous units, exceptionally complete functions and ease of use for the operator are available. Many new technological innovations have been introduced on the new KONFORT with regards to the robustness of the unit and the attractive design which contribute to the uniqueness and innovation of the product. This new range of machines has been developed espe-cially to meet the SAE legislation in terms of service ac-curacy and precision. The standard 720R version is equipped with a simple high visibility LCD interface.

The other models are equipped with a more revolutio-nary TFT colour display which checks the automated procedures via alternating images, graphics, technical diagrams with any errors been signalled with detailed error messages. TEXA software monitors the service progress via a net-work of sensors in order to guarantee more accuracy than was previously possible. The technician will be guided through the procedure which will avoid mistakes which may compromise the AC system, and any incorrect function requests will be prevented electronically. This feature is very useful when dealing with new generation vehicles which are sensitive even to the slightest imbalance.The technician will not find any difficulty even when

carrying out interventions on more sophisticated AC systems such as those used within the new hybrid vehi-cle applications. The SD Card which is standard on all models allows communication with a Windows PC to update the vehi-cle make and model database (optional method also available via the WASY II), allows records and reports of all services carried out and allows future software upgrades to be carried out (also possible via WASY II).

The main menu is the access point to all the KONFORT A/C service station’s available functions and services. This has been re-desig-ned in order to offer a simpler but more intuitive functionality.

The advanced Software and a sophisticated network of sensors are able to identify any type of errors and will provide alerts to the operator via specific error messages.

Due to the advanced series DATABASE; it is possible to select the service within only a few seconds in a professional and safe man-ner.

It is possible to personalise the use of the service station within a workshop which employs a number of technicians by selecting the user.

A dedicated section of the Software allows the RECOVERY, VA-CUUM, OIL INJECTION and CHARGE phases which constitute the service procedure, to be selected individually and personalised according to the operator’s requirements.

The new AC systems require new and specific types of oil. The KONFORT A/C service stations are able to manage all types of oils and can alert the operator when a different type of oil bottle should be introduced.

The KONFORT is able to automatically determine whether the re-charge station’s inclination position negatively influences its fun-ction to avoid the operator unknowingly carrying out inaccurate procedures.

The new system check for all vehicle models has been added to all the new stations. It is possible to assess the correct AC system function both before and after the service using the relating kit and dedicated Software.

The KONFORT station’s compatibility with the new R1234yf refri-gerant requires higher safety measures than in the past. Should the system recognise an unsafe situation; the SAFETY RECOVERY mode is automatically activated.

The VDC kit provides the ability to carry out advanced diagnosis even on modern systems which are equipped with an electroni-cally controlled variable compressor. A dedicated function guides the operator through the entire procedure.

The service station can be constantly connected to the GPRS net-work, via the new WASY II module which allows the software and automatic database to be updated.

It is possible to use the flushing kit with all the service stations to carry out a professional internal clean up system. The procedure does not require the use of any additional products or cleaning agent.


AVAILABLE OPTIONALS

TO PROVIDE A PROFESSIONAL REPAIR

The available optional accessories offer the ability to personalise any chosen KONFORT version via specific packages. In order to offer a complete service to a customer re-quirements; various optional accessories have been developed to provide specific service functions.

FLUSHING KIT The flushing procedure is the mechanical operation which allows the cleaning of the vehicle’s AC system piping. The unit is equipped with a supplementary 6 litre ca-pacity reservoir with a stainless steel filter which is easily removable for cleaning purposes, and a visual contamination indicator located on the front of the reservoir. The kit consists of high flow piping with an internal diameter of 5mm which is supplied with the universal adaptor cables case (over 60 parts).

VDC KITMany newer vehicles are equipped with climate con-trol systems with a electronically controlled variable displacement compressor which proportional control of the heating/cooling requirements to limit energy consumption and maintain the AC system’s maximum efficiency. Due to this system’s complexity, faults may occur that are extremely complex. TEXA has develo-ped an interface specifically to deal with this type of test which is known as the VDC, able to control the compressor’s actual displacement during the physi-cal diagnosis of the AC system. The VDC interprets the AC’s ECU control signal via the unit’s electronics, and can modify the control signal to test the function of the compressor. This interface allows a rapid but com-plete diagnosis to be carried out.


REFRIGERANT ANALYSIS KITThis kit (optional for 760R and 780R models) helps prevent the technician from accidentally mixing the R134a and R1234yf refrigerant. The KONFORT with this kit analyse the refrigerant within the vehicle’s AC system to confirm that it is correct according to the manufacturing specification. Should the technician carry out a service with the incorrect or contamina-ted refrigerant, the service station would be comple-tely contaminated. At this stage, a service procedure for the service station must be carried out to restore the original unit function. The refrigerant analysis kit stops from encountering any possible errors which may have occurred previously by their colleagues, avoid any damage to the KONFORT and safeguarding all workshop tasks.

CLIMATE CONTROL EFFICIENCY KITGenerally, the vehicle ventilation and heating is con-trolled via the climate control system, which uses the air vents to distribute the air flowin the vehicle to gua-rantee an easily regulated internal cabin temperature. The AC performance should guarantee a reduction in the cabin temperature of at least 15° C compared with the ambient external temperature. It is important to check the system’s performance following a service. The new KONFORT A/C service station models are equipped with the optional “CLIMATE CONTROL EFFI-CIENCY TEST KIT” in order to carry out a rapid function test. This new function also allows checks to be carried out on the AC system’s air vents outlet temperature. Once the test has been carried out, the KONFORT A/C service station creates a detailed report.

BLUETOOTH MODULEBy using the Bluetooth card/module (provided as op-tion for the KONFORT 760R and 780R from 2012), the service station is able to connect to the workshop’s network infrastructure. The station can, therefore, be connected to a PC via Bluetooth where there is an ASA NETWORK infrastructure. This will allow the service management to be carried out in simple manner.

WASY II MODULEWith the WASY card/module, the KONFORT station may be updated via a GPRS telephone connection with a link to the TEXA server. The WASY II module allows the service station’s vehicle database and sof-tware to be updated. It is also able to send automatic service warnings to the distributor.

The KONFORT is “customer orientated” as it has been developed to satisfy today’s workshop requirements. The new KONFORT range is the epitome of the progress made by TEXA over the past few years with regards to the development and research of mate-rials, use of new technology and automation of the production process. All parts and systems within the units such as the recovery group, the electronics, the oil reservoirs etc are continually being researched and experimented with. A series of specifications are formulated so the final product may be developed, after which; hardwear tests are carried out on the unit within “sample wor-kshops” in order to guarantee fixed and long lasting

standards of quality. By complying with ISO/TS 16949 procedures to which the company is adhering, TEXA has taken a new, substantial step forward with regards to product manu-facturing. The quality has been improved on all levels via the initial research, materials used, individual system parts and their assembly, external suppliers, unit checks and the automated manufacturing phase. This guarantees that all products are of a high standard of quality once they are ready for commercial distribu-tionThe new KONFORT machines adhere to the European safety requirements concerning the product specifi-cations. They have been designed and developed in accordance with the American standard regarding

their refrigerant purity (SAE J2099 for R134a and the future SAE J2844 for R1234yf ). Its recovery efficiency is 95% for the R134a refrigerant (SAE J2788) and R1234yf (future SAE J2843 standard).


AFTER SALES SERVICE

TEXA’s technical service provides the highest level of support throughout the international territory and it is organized on three levels. The first level consists of a call center service available for an initial response to the customer’s needs. The second level consists of a network of service centers specially trained to interve-ne directly on the equipment that may not be working properly. The third level consists of a group of 20 ope-rators and by the operating units found in Texa sub-sidiaries located in countries such as Spain, Germany, United Kingdom, France, Russia and Poland.All repair activities across the territory are supported by a managing software available via Internet to all technicians operating in TEXA after-sales department.Through this software all the operations are tracked

and monitored for constant verification of the guaran-teed level of service to the customer.Through the use of Electronic spare parts, a more user friendly program, you can request and view the entire range of TEXA spare parts through the use of images, broken-down views and descriptions of each com-ponent. This service provides immediate processing times.This complex organization can act very quickly and ef-fectively respond promptly to all requests for service and repair, maintenance and calibration of TEXA char-ging stations.
