SEMINAR ON JOB OPPORTUNITIES IN BANKING SECTOR

The Department of Commerce with Computer Applications organized a

seminar on “Job Opportunities in Banking Sector” on 16th July 2018. Mr. Sam

Sundar Trainer RR skill Development, Coimbatore, was the chief person. The

speaker highlighted various Job Opportunities in the field of banking which

provides a wealth of opportunities for college graduates. He added that the

vacancies in the banking sector are going up day by day accommodating most of

the unemployed people whereas the sector also offers lucrative career growth to

anybody who is diligent and hard working. There are different subsectors in the

banking and Insurance fields where there is a requirement for people to meet the

new challenges and demands. 75 students were benefited from his speech.

Abin K. Joe Trainer –NIIT Coimbatore delivered the inaugural address. He spoke

on “Opportunities in Banking and Insurance”. He shared his views on Job

Opportunities in the field of banking and Insurance. There are different subsectors

in the banking and Insurance fields where there is a requirement for people to meet

the new challenges and demands. The 80 students have attentively participated the

programme.

seminar on “DIGITAL MARKETING” on 17thJuly 2018. Mr.Bharath Sekar,

Trainer –NIIT Coimbatore, delivered the address on “Digital Marketing”. He

expressed his opinion on digital marketing as the only sector which experiences an

exponential growth in the present scenario and various opportunities available in

this sector. The 80 students have gained knowledge about digital marketing in the

seminar on “ROADMAP TO THE FUTURE IN COMMERCE” on 20th July

2018. The seminar was headed over by the chief guest Mr. CA.S.Rajesh, Institute

of Chartered Accountants of India, Coimbatore. The speaker addressed about

various opportunities available to the students in sector of commerce and he

seminar on “BUSINESS LEADERSHIP” on 7th August 2018. The chief guest

Mr. Samuvel Churchil, Founder and Director, GET SET GO Coimbatore,

expressed his ideas on “Business Leadership”. He stated the strategies for

developing emotional intelligence and strategic thinking to improve decision

making skills and 155 students were benefitted by his speech. And also the models

of effective leadership through team building and project management exercises.

SEMINAR ON GOODS AND SERVICE TAX


seminar on “GOODS AND SERVICE TAX” on 30th August 2018. The chief

guest was Mr.Muthukumar, Proprietor SRIKARA-Multi specialty professional

training hub, Coimbatore. He shared his views on “GOODS AND SERVICE

TAX (GST)” and 143 students were attended the seminar and interacted with him.

He stated that GST has brought in ‘One Nation One Tax”, but its effects on various

industries is slightly different and also the impact of GST on Manufacturers,

Distributor and Retailers.

NATIONAL LEVEL INTER COLLEGIATE MEET

The Department of Commerce with Computer Applications conducted the

“National Level Inter Collegiate Meet” on 06th September 2018. Ms. S.

Vinothini, Assistant Professor, Department of B.Com (CA) welcomed the

gathering. The events conducted in this inter collegiate meet were MIME, ADZAP,

BEST MANAGEMENT TEAM, BUSINESS QUIZ, MEHANDI and RANGOLI.

More than 720 students from 22 colleges had added color to this meet. Esteemed

Principal of our college Dr. V. Balasubramaniam, and the Chief Executive Officer

Dr.V. Chinnusamy distributed the trophy and certificates to the Winners and

Participants of “National level Inter Collegiate Meet- BIZNET 2018”.

INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON STARTUP ENTREPRENEURSHIP

The Department of Commerce with Computer Applications organized an

International Workshop on “Startup Entrepreneurship” on 7th September

2018.Mrs..V.Regha Department of B.Com(CA) welcomed the Dignitaries, Staff

members, and Students who added colour to the function. The chief Guest for the

Workshop was Dr. P.T.Saleendran, Associate Professor, Department of

Behavioural Science, Wolaita Sodo University, Ethiopia inaugurated the

workshop and expressed his views on keys to become a Successful Entrepreneur.

In the afternoon session Mr.Vishnu Nagaraj, Founder taGD and

Mr.Nithin V conducted various business events of how to launch a new product

and to be a successful entrepreneur in the competitive world. More than 730

students from 24 colleges were participated in the Workshop and got benefited.

Dr. A.Priya, Assistant Professor, proposed the Vote of Thanks to Dignitaries,

Staff Members of B.Com (C.A), Students and Staff members from various colleges

who accompanied their students.

seminar on “DIGITAL BANKING” on 26th September 2018. The chief guest was

Mr. N.Senthamarai, Financial Literacy Counsellor Disha Trust, Coimbatore. He

shared his views on “DIGITAL BANKING”. He narrated the structure of Banks

and various financial Institutions which provide lending & Investments. 230

students were attended and benefited in this programme. He also shared about

various Banking instruments.

GUEST LECTURE ON SUBSTANCE ABUSE AND LIFE SKILL COUNSELING

The Department of Commerce with Computer Applications conducted a Guest Lecture

on “Substance Abuse and Life Skill Counseling” by A.Bellaro John Regan, Assistant Professor,

PG & Research Department of Social Work, SNGC College, K.G.Chavadi on 07.03.2019. The

Programme started with a prayer song. Mrs.S.Vinothini, Assistant Professor, Department of

B.Com (CA) welcomed the gathering. Then the Chief Guest delivered a speech on Healthy Life

style practices to be followed by the students and to be out of alcohol and insisted the students

about the importance of the healthy life. 98 students were participated in this interactive and

informative session and each and every students got benefited in this program, Dr.A,Priya,

Assistant Professor, Department of B.Com (CA) delivered the vote of thanks.

“Job opportunities in Banking and SSC Exams” on 12.03.2019. The Programme started with a

prayer song.Mrs.T.Deepika, Assistant Professor, Department of B.Com (CA) welcomed the

gathering. Mr.K.Satheesh, Explore Academy delivered a guest lecture on “How to prepare for

Banking and SSC Exams?”. The Resource Person created awareness about competitive exams

and gave guidelines for preparing banking and other competitive exams. 120 students were

benefited in this guest lecture. Mrs.C.Nandhini, Assistant Professor, Department of B.Com (CA)

delivered the vote of thanks.
