Dear Parents, With the beginning of December fast approaching, Christmas festivities and the end of year activities will create much excitement in the school. It will also be the start of students handing out Christmas cards. We love that children get so much pleasure in the giving and in the receiving of a simple card. We do ask that candy canes or sweets not be included in the envelopes. The rubbish aside that this creates, we end up with very unsettled sugar laden students and an army of ants marching in and out of school bags with big grins on their faces. Please keep it simple – cards only, and from Monday 4th December. Library Stocktake The school will be having a major library stocktake this year, and there are large numbers of outstanding loans which need to be returned as soon as possible. Parents are unfortunately billed for lost resources as the cost of replacing is prohibitive for the school. Please check under beds and in cupboards for any resources which need to be returned. Annual Presentation Ceremony Our Presentation Day Awards Ceremony will be held on Tuesday 12th December at 10am at school. All parents and carers are welcome to attend. The ceremony is planned to be completed by 11.30am at the latest. If your child is receiving a special award a secret note will be posted home to you in the next couple of weeks. Please inform us if you have changed your address recently. Food / Christmas Drive We love to give as well as receive at this time of year! Between now and the last week of term, students are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food donation or small gift for the tree, to their classroom. Each item will receive a ticket for the raffle as well as a count towards their class total. The class that brings in the most items will receive a pizza lunch for their efforts! The non-perishable food items need to be in date and the small new un-opened toy labelled with male/female and age. All the goods will be donated to help out local families and their children this Christmas morning. With lots of calendar dates jumping out at everyone during the next couple of weeks, please check our online calendar and the noticeboard out the front of the school for current information. Have a fabulous week, Sue Mackay Week 7 Term 4, 22nd November 2017 Kororo Public School
