The grid system is based on a square, which is the overall shape of the Kroma logo mark. It was formulated out of six columns and seven rows. This particular grid is appropriate for the brand because it provides the ability to break the guidelines while still functioning as a clean and organized layout.

The logo mark is based on the geometric forms of the letter “k’ and is made to be interchangeable with all of the colors of the brands color palette. The logo type is evently distributed and leveled proportionally. The final combined mark and type is the final product of the logo.

The stationary was made to represent brand itself; modern and unique. We incorporated the logo into each piece with a simple yet formal style. Each piece projects the logo and the information for a clear identification of the hotel.

We wanted our advertisements to speak to our target consumers in a way that would be inviting for them to come and stay at our hotel. Here we have an outdoor billboard, a two page spread and some product placements. The billboard was designed to be eye-catching and loud. With the large image and catchy tag line, we aimed to show off edgy side for the brand. The full page spread was designed to be unique with diagonal alignments and bold colors. The product placement was based out of scripts from the TODAY show and Conan O’brien. These were chosen for the reviews and to get the hotels name out to the public.

Conan: Yeah, the windy city has been good to me so far. Oh you’ll never believe what I did yesterday.

Andy: Uh, do I want to know?

Conan: Ha oh yes! After a long flight I was exhausted and really needed a massage. So I asked around and was told to check out this hotel called kroma. I never heard of it before so I was a little nervous before going.

Andy: Yeah, never heard of it.

Conan: But needless to say best massage I’ve ever had!

Andy: Really?

Conan: Yeah. So are we ready for a good show tonight?

The basic idea behind designing them was to incorporate the logo with the primary colors in our brand. These are high quality products that are intended to be made specifically for the hotel.
