Bali's Sanglah G e n e r a l Hospital Opens a Coordinated Cardiac Care Center

B a l i ' s Sanglah General H o s p i t a l h a s o p e n e d c o o r d i n a t e d coronary care unit, located strategically adjacent to the hospital emergency room.

The head of the coronary unit at Sanglah General Hospital, Dr. I Wayan Wita, explained that patients served by his center are admitted only on a referral basis. Members of the public who think they may be suffering a cardiac event should first go to the emergency room for initial assessment and, if need be, they will be referredl to the cardiac center right next door. “If people are having chest pain,” explained Dr. Wita, “this can usually be handled in the emergency room.”

G'day again punters and lets rip into another week in paradise. A weird weekend just passed in the footy with I'd say Freo having the best win. The poor old G.W.S copped a 20 goal belting, now tell me that's gotta put a dent in the teams moral. I believe it was the last game Sheedy coached for the team as well. Richmond had a great game and came out on top against the Lions, but, the game of the round, well for me anyhow, was you guessed it, The Mighty Pies getting away from the reigning premiers to the tune of almost six goals. I think the game was taken in the last half with the Swans

seemingly running out of steam. Only three more weeks till the final series which should end up being a great one.

I think the kidneys will need to be well rested for the clash on Friday night against the Sewer stripes and the Mighty Pies which will be a very hard one to tip, but hey, so was the game against the Swans. Karn The Pies.. Just briefly before I sign out I will touch on the situation unfolding with Essendon, and the call for Jimmy to be sacked. At time of writing there are suggestions that the teams premiership points are being taken away for the year. At the end of the day I look forward to seeing what the powers that be decide is a fair punishment. The Denpasar Police have apprehended two men in connection with the smuggling of e n d a n g e r e d g r e e n turtles.

One of the men detained by police Holik (44) told police that he was hunting for green turtles to use in the traditional evening meal enjoyed by Muslims during the fasting month.

The spokesman for the Denpasar Police Precinct, police commissioner Ida Bagus Sarjana, told Seputarbali.com that another man, Ridwan (27), was also arrested with Holik. Unfortunately,

a third man, Bogel (27), managed to escape at the time made their arrest.

Said Sarjana, “All three suspects come from Kampung Bugis on Serangan Island in Denpasar.”

The arrests were made based on reports received from the public concerning the theft of

tu r t les be ing r e h a b i l i t a t e d a t Serangan Island.

P o l i c e discovered the three men landing a “jukung” traditional boat. When police approached the boat, Bogel took flight while police captured Holik and Ridwan.

Police found 2 endangered g reen turtles in the boat. One

of the rept i les had been slaughtered while the second was still alive. 77 turtle eggs were also confiscated by police.

The men can be charged for violations of conservation laws carrying a maximum penalty of 9 years in prison.

Bali Exports Decline 10.25%Bali Exports for June Declined With Major Commodities Shipped Aboard Seafood, Jewelry and Gems

T h e S t a t e News Agency Antara reports that data from the Bali Center for S ta t i s t i c s (BPS) indicate Exports from Bali in June totaled US$44.58 mil l ion dol lars, decl ining 10.25% from the total exports in the same month one year before (US$46.68 million).

The June 2013 figure was also a decline of 5.32% from May 2013.

The chief of BPS-Bali, Gede Suarsa, said that a number of large shipments by sea had been sent in June to the United States, Japan, Australia,

Singapore and China.The U.S.A. represents

23.70% of Bali's total exports, followed by Japan (13.31%), Australia (8.04%), Singapore (6.69%) and China (3.70%).

Gede Suarsa reports that the five main commodities exported form Bali are fish and shrimp (26.57%), jewelry and

g e m s (12.43%), ready-to-wear clothing (12.20%), Wood p r o d u c t s ( 1 1 . 2 2 % ) , f u r n i t u r e a n d h o u s e h o l d a c c e s s o r i e s (8.56%).

S u a r s a said that on an o v e r a l l b a s i s exports to these f i v e m a i n countries declined when compared to the same month

one year ago.Exports to the U.S.A.

declined 0.64%, Singapore declined 28.45% and China declined 17.97%. Meanwhile, June exports to Japan increased 7.25%.

Hak pakai may be held by and Indonesian individual or entity. Or foreigner permanently domiciled in

Indonesia, or a foreign legal entity with a representative office in Indonesia such as foreign Banks, embassies, etc.

NOMINEE SYSTEM FOR HAK MILIKThis structure is a regularly practiced

procedure in Indonesia, whereby the foreigner nominates and Indonesian representative to acquire the land and to hold the 'freehold' title (Hak Milik) on behalf of the foreigner.

Ownership of the land is transferred from the previous owner to the Indonesian nominee.

The foreigner and the Indonesian nominee then sign an agreement which recognizes the Indonesian nominee as the legal owner of the property whilst declaring the foreigner as the rightful owner of the property. This agreement denotes that the Indonesian nominee will carry out any directives from the foreigner regarding the land. This agreement must always be concluded in the presence of a public notary.

Garuda Vindicates Expat Co-Pilot Accused of Narcotics Use

G a r u d a I n d o n e s i a expatriate co-pilot Viktor Munoz Lopez, widely reported by the State News Agency Antara and other media as grounded after testing positive for psychotropical drugs during random tests carried out by the National Anti-Narcotics Agency (BNN) has been vindicate of any wrong doing.

An independent urine analysis performed by the Siloam Hospital in Makassar, South Sulawesi and the Makassar Prodia Laboratory on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 showed no indication of drug use in the co-pilot's system. This was further supported by an i n t e n s i v e i n t e r n a l r e v i e w conducted by Garuda under the supervision of an impartial outside team of experts.

Both Medical laboratories and Garuda Indonesia arrived at the same conclusion that Victor Munoz Lopez was free of any traces of psychotropical drugs in his system.

“False positives” for use of the drug can often be traced to the use of prescription drugs used by a

person who subsequently tests “positive” for narcotic.

Following the initial tests, later proven incorrect, showing psychotropic drugs in Lopez's system. Based on the initial test by BNN, Garuda Indonesia took the precaut ionary step of grounding the Spanish expatriate

pilot pending a final resolution of the case.

The chief of BNN for South Sulawesi, police commissioner Richard P. Nainggolan, initially announced that Lopez had tested positive for using narcotics, saying further tests were needed to resolve the case.

Richard Nainggolan later took special pains to tell the press that his off ice had never confirmed that co-pilot Viktor

Munoz Lopez had tested positive for drugs.

A clarification vindicating both Garuda and the pilot was issued during a press conference held in Makassar. Participating in the press conference were the South Sulawesi chief of BNN, Richard Nainggolan; the head of

the Police's narcotics squad, Bambang; Chevy, the police commissioner for South Sulawesi's narcotics squad; the general manager of Angkasa Pura for Makassar, and the vice-deputy chairman of the Ujung Pandang (Makassar) Airport Authority.

M e a n w h i l e , a vindicated Lopez has returned to his right-hand seat in the cockpit flying scheduled services by Garuda.

Jesus looks over, raises his glass, smiles thank you and

The Englishman then calls out, 'Errr, excuse me Sir

but would you be Jesus?'

Jesus smiles and says, 'Yes, I am Jesus.'

The Englishman beckons the bartender and tells him to

send over a Pint of Newcastle Brown Ale for Jesus.

This the bartender duly does. As before, Jesus

accepts the drink and smiles over at the men.

Then the Australian calls out, 'Oi, you! D'ya reckon

you're Jesus, or what?'

Jesus nods and says, 'Yes, I am Jesus.'

Jesus then shakes the hand of the Englishman,

thanking him for the Newcastle Brown Ale. Upon

letting go, the Englishman's eyes widen in shock.

‘By Jove', he exclaims, 'The migraine I've had for

over 40 years is completely gone It's a Miracle!'

Jesus then approaches the Australian, who has a

A T e n n e s s e e judge has ordered a baby's first name c h a n g e d f r o m " M e s s i a h " t o Martin, saying that t h e o n l y t r u e messiah is Jesus Christ, a ruling the b o y ' s m o t h e r p r o m i s e s t o appeal.

The parents of Messiah DeShawn Martin went before Tennessee Chi ld Suppor t Magistrate Lu Ann Ballew because they could not agree on the 7 month old's last name.

Ballew instead last week ordered the baby's name changed to Martin DeShawn McCullough,

"The word 'messiah' is a title, and it's a title that has only been earned by one person, and that one person is Jesus Christ,"

Ballew, who could not be reached for comment said the child would likely struggle with his given first name because he lives in Cocke County, a predominantly Christ ian area in eastern Tennessee.

"It could put him at odds with a lot of people and, at this point, he has had no choice in what his name is," Ballew said.

Jaleesa Mart in, the baby's mother, said she would appeal the judge's order.

"I didn't think a judge could change my baby's name

because of her religious beliefs," Martin said.

Two young brothers f o u n d d e a d i n a n apartment over a reptile store in New Brunswick, Canada, were believed to have been strangled by a snake that escaped its enclosure and slithered in to the bui ld ing 's ventilation system.

The boys, ages 5 and 7, were sleeping over at a friend's apartment above Reptile Ocean in the city of Campbellton. Their bodies were discovered early in the morning, said Constable Jullie Rogers-Marsh of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

"It's believed the two boys were strangled by the snake," Rogers-Marsh said, adding she was unaware if the boys were

asleep when the attack occurred.

The snake, which was recovered in the building by the store owner, was in the custody of police, who would not identify its species.

"At this point we are still trying to piece together what happened," Rogers-Marsh said. "We do know the brothers were

Pub brawl over smelly fartA roof carpenter has pleaded guilty to bashing a pub patron after the victim made a comment about a smelly fart.

A n g e l o A n d r e o u ' s lawyer Terry Dobson told Perth Magistrate's Court that a brawl that erupted at Botanica Bar & Bistro in July last year "was 58 seconds of mayhem" in which " b o d i e s w e r e f l y i n g everywhere".

"We've got a massive brawl on licensed premises on account of someone supposedly doing a smelly bodily emission," Mr Dobson said during his sentencing submissions for his 37-year-old client who pleaded guilty to assault occasioning bodily harm.

Andreou had been due to stand trial but admitted the offence after a charge of aggravated unlawful wounding was dropped.

Mr Dobson told the court the brawl was started by the victim, Shane Ball, who he said threw several punches after an exchange of words with two of Andreou's friends after he formed the view one of the men had "dropped wind".

Prosecutor Elizabeth Needham told the court the verba l exchange tu rned physical and several punches

were thrown before Mr Ball was knocked to the ground.

She said while Mr Ball was on the ground, Andreou "came in swinging" and kicked him in the head. She said there was no need for Andreou to get involved.

Mr Dobson said Andreou "was unhappy he resorted to doing what he did" and his client should be fined for the offence.

He agreed there was a need for general deterrence.

Ms Needham said Mr Ball regretted his behaviour but Andreou's attack while Mr Ball was on the ground was "opportunistic at best".

Magistrate Barbara Lane adjourned Andreou's sentencing until next month and asked for a victim impact statement from Mr Ball and a written pre sentence report.

TV shows commemorating the struggle for independence are aired for weeks before and after independence day. All-star musical extravaganzas are held in various venues and broadcast throughout the archipelago.

Drains are swept, weeds are cut back, debris is burned and public areas are repainted. Women are asked to provide snacks to the hard working men. The women are busy in cooking contests to see who can make the biggest krupuk or the most delicious nasi tumpeng.

One of the most popular games is the Panjat Pinang. An Areca palm trunk is erected in a public area and well greased with a mixture of clay and oil. At the top are hung various prizes like bikes and TVs. Whoever makes it to the top wins the prize. Needless to say there are a lot of

slippery, muddy kids and grownups alike climbing over each other and struggling to reach the goal. A good time is had by all, especially the crowd watching the gaiety.

Knights take seventh spot with thrilling win over CronullaNewcastle has cemented its spot in the top eight with a thrilling win over Cronulla at Shark Park.

Knights centre Dane Gagai scored his second try two minutes from full-time to snatch an 18-14 win in the 250th game for Knights hooker Danny Buderus.

The win takes Newcastle to seventh place on the ladder, one point behind Cronulla.

In a tight match Cronulla took the lead 14-12 with nine minutes to go through a Todd Carney penalty goal.

As the Sharks relaxed in defence in the dying minutes of the game Newcastle produced a brilliant passage of play to create the winning opportunity.

From his own half Jarrod Mullen put in a chip for Darius Boyd which took the Knights 30 metres up field. Two tackles later Mullen put in a deft cross-field kick which Gagai collected on the full to score the winning try.

There was little between the two teams with the Knights clinging to an 8-6 lead at half-time.

Both teams then scored off opponents' mistakes early in the second half.

Sharks backrower Wade Graham toed through and dived on a spilt

ball from Mullen to give his side a 12-8 lead after 46 minutes.

Three minutes later Tyrone Roberts scored after Cronulla winger Nathan Stapleton coughed up the ball close to his own line.

The match continued in an arm wrestle before Cronulla had a sniff of victory with the Carney penalty goal.

Knights players showed their emotion after a particularly hard-fought match which gave Buderus a memorable milestone game.

Controversial star James O'Connor says it is easy for him to buy into the Wallabies culture set by new coach Ewen McKenzie and he's changing to ensure he's best known for what he does on the field.

The gifted utility back incurred some disciplinary blemishes and unwanted media headlines under former coach Robbie Deans, most recently being spotted at a burger bar at 4am in the week of the second Test against the British and Irish Lions.

"I don't play rugby to be talked about off the field," O'Connor said on Monday as he waits to learn if he'll be selected by McKenzie for Saturday's Bledisloe Cup opener against the All Blacks in Sydney.

"I'm playing rugby because I love it and that's what I want to be doing, playing for my country.

He was just as philosophical about McKenzie's decision to move him from five-eighth - where he played against the Lions - and play him as an outside back.

"I've spent most of my time in Test football out wider, so I guess looking at the Lions Test series, we weren't successful there, so it wasn't too big a shock," O'Connor said.

Currently un-signed after the Melbourne Rebels declined to offer him deal for 2014, O'Connor said he was only focusing on the Bledisloe Cup matches over the next two weekends.

I think the number varies depending on your single status. If you have a partner and some children you can have quite a lot of cats - maybe as many as five - before people start calling you a crazy cat family. A couple could probably manage three. If you are single however, the number sinks very low. I suspect you can only go to two cats before people call you a cat lady. Some unforgiving people may call you a cat lady when you only have two. It is vastly unfair however to call you a crazy cat lady when you only have one. One cat is clearly chic. One cat is good company. One cat is entirely normal.Tell your friend she might think she's a real riot but she's actually quite offensive. The fact you don't have a partner should not mean you are painted as some wild haired, desperate spinster sharing tins of cat food with your pussies.Seriously dear, rise above it & please keep caring for as many cats as you can. It might be a bit of a joke but sometimes friends need to know their jokes are falling entirely flat.

A Brendon Goddard goal opened the final term on a positive note for the home side, but the Eagles then kicked the last six goals of the game to cruise to victory.

Collingwood targets top four after beating Swans by 29 points

Collingwood has outplayed Sydney to earn an upset 29-point win at the Olympic stadium on Saturday night.

T h e S w a n s started strongly but they looked increasingly tired as the game wore on, and the Magpies went on to clinch a 14.16 (100) to 10.11 (71) victory.

Sydney started the game in fierce form, jumping the Magpies with four goals in the first 10 minutes including two to forward Kurt Tippett.

But Collingwood settled quickly and more than matched the Swans for toughness for the rest of the game.

The second term was all Collingwood, as the Magpies midfield got on top of Sydney, to lead by three points at the half.

For the Swans, however, Tippett was proving unstoppable, taking a big mark and converting

inside the opening minute of the second half to give Sydney the lead back.

A minute later, Tippett had his fifth of the night and the Swans were nine points clear - but the Magpies kept coming and goals to Ben Reid, Josh Thomas and Jamie Elliott put the visitors back in front.

Travis Cloke kicked a goal late in the quarter to make the lead 16 points, then Jarryd Blair and Elliott missed chances to put the game away before Tippett kept the Swans in the game with his sixth major.

T h e visitors had the greater energy, however, and goals to Reid and S t e e l e Sidebottom early in the final quarter e n s u r e d t h e Magpies would walk away with the v i ta l four points.

Dead shark found on subway

New York City subway riders got a surprise when a dead shark was discovered on a Queens-bound subway train, authorities said.

A supervisor found the four foot long carcass shortly after midnight, moved the passengers onto another car and discarded it at the end of the line, according to Metropol i tan Transportat ion Authority spokesman Kevin Ortiz.

Photos of the shark appeared online, along with pictures of passengers posing the shark with accessories such as a cigarette and a subway fare card.

This happens to be Shark Week, an annual promotion by the Discovery Channel dedicated to sharks. A spokeswoman for the Discovery Channel said it had nothing to do with the shark on the subway.

Woman offers breast feeding to gay parents

A woman has posted an offer on a French website to breast feed babies of homosexual male couples for 100 euros ($130) a day, stirring up media interest just weeks after a divisive same sex marriage law was passed.

"I am a young mother in perfect health, a trained nurse of 29, and I am renting my breasts to milk feed infants."

The offer, addressed to male homosexual couples who can marry legally in France since May, promises up to 10 breast feeds a day. The woman is mobile and based near Paris, it says.

Alexandre Woog, chief executive of the e-loue website where the offer appeared, said its staff had contacted the person and had no doubt about her identity and the seriousness of the proposal, nor the legality of the service proposed.

"Our legal advisers are sure of this. It's illegal in France

to sel l maternal milk but this is a p e r s o n proposing a serv ice, not selling the milk in flasks,"

"I've received more than a dozen requests, but only half of them were serious. The rest were from perverts," the poster of the offer, run like all adverts under a pseudonym, said in a statement.

Woog said his website, created in 2009 as a platform where users can offer or hire anything legal online, checks any posts that raise eyebrows.

The breast-feeding offer w a s t h e s e c o n d m a j o r eyecatcher since the website was founded, he said. Another user previously offered to rent out two goats as lawn cutters.

Sydney Roosters take NRL leadJarrod Croker's

sideline conversion set up a thrilling finish and the Raiders found themselves in an attacking position in the final minute only for their attack to be halted by a dubious knock-on call.

New South Wales Origin five-eighth James Maloney was the architect for the Roosters while his Blues team-mate Michael Jennings scored two tries.

The Roosters were not getting carried away with their elevation to the top of the table after a somewhat scrappy win.

"It's good to be in this position but we need to play better footy," Roosters coach Trent Robinson said.

TV producer gives up living as womanAn American TV news editor, who has been living as a w o m a n s i n c e M a y, i s resuming his life as a man after a tumultuous period in which he claimed he had amnesia and accused his wife of dressing him up as a woman.

News producer Don Ennis was publicly applauded earlier this year for his decision to transition to being Dawn Ennis.

Ennis has now sent friends and colleagues an email saying he had had a bout of transient global amnesia which took him back to 1999 and he found himself wondering why he was dressed as a woman.

“It became obvious this was not the case once I took off the bra and discovered two reasons I was wearing one,” he said, referring to his hormone induced breasts.

“I thought it was 1999 and I was sure as hell that I was a man,” Ennis said in the e-mail titled “Not Reportable, Very Confirmed.”

“Fortunately, my memories of the last 14 years have since returned. But what did not return was my identity as Dawn,” said Ennis, who had been wearing lipstick, skirts and heels.

“I am writing to let you know I'm changing my name to Don Ennis. That will be my name again, now and forever. And it appears I'm not transgender after all.

“I'm asking all of you who accepted me as a transgender to n o w u n d e r s t a n d I w a s misdiagnosed." Don now feels “fantastic” as a man again. With the hormone treatment and surgery, he hopes things will only get better. He called his three month odyssey into the world of women “a tremendous gift.”

Vending In ReverseBeijing's subway authorities have introduced reverse vending machines which allow travellers to offset their transit costs by recycling.

Passengers insert a plastic bottle, wait twenty seconds until the bottle is crushed to a third of its original size. Donors then receive one jiao (1.6 cents) on their commuter passes for each empty bottle. The machines have been installed in two stations so far.

Recycling for a reward.

The manufacturer of the machines, Incom says it's easy. The machine here will be competing against the subway's numerous scavengers and

underground collection centers, which actually turns recyclable material into waste, and produce more pollution.

The company is confident that being a green campaigner will help them win. The machine is still in a trial stage. The company plans to install 3, 000 such machines across the city. They'll expand to other subway lines, schools, residential areas, bus stops and shopping malls. Similar machines will soon be installed in bus stops as well.

Helicopter lift costs Dutch climbersTwo Dutch climbers who a p p a r e n t l y f e i g n e d exhaustion to get a rescue helicopter lift down from an Austrian mountain face prosecution on top of a 2,300 euro ($3,100) fine for the ride.

The two friends aged 27 and 30 had mounted the 1,750-metre Little Goell peak near Salzburg in June, and written "we are going back by helicopter" in the climbers' book at the top. They

then summoned a rescue helicopter on the way back down.

"Basically we want to

send a clear signal that help and rescue measures and search flights are only to be launched when absolutely necessary because there is always a risk for rescue teams," local official Helmut Fuerst said.

Pilots battle to be shortest and slowestThere is no first class on these p l a n e s . N o r m o v i e s , n o r champagne not e v e n b u d g e t economy class with a glass of water.

For these are the planes that will take you to the wilds of Alaska where jumbos fear to tread and where there are no runways just the occasional sand bars on the side of a streams or just small patches of grass.

All the pilots of these planes need to land is an 18m clearing not the 3km of concrete that an A380 super jumbo requires.

For that was the winning distance at the 2013 annual fly in at Valdez Alaska where pilots of

these Short take off and landing planes fight it out to land on a dime.

The two day competition pits the flying skills of bush pilots to see not who can fly the fastest but who can fly the slowest.

And not only is there a large crowd watching the dare devils but black bears and sheep watching on the surrounding hills.

The pilots are often

veterans of their craft with more than 25,000 hours of f lying in remote Alaska.

And the best planes are typically heavily modified.

There are four categories for competitors at the Valdez fly-in.

T h e l i g h t touring, heavy touring and stock bush classes all feature production certified planes.

While modifications can be made they must be approved for use on production planes.

However on the alternate bush category anything goes but the changes must be built under the US regulator's experimental category. Or pilots can build a design from the ground up.

The intricacies of the video referee have halted Canterbury's bid for the NRL top four as Gold Coast moved into finals reckoning with a 26-16 upset at the Olympic stadium.

A Kevin Gordon hat-trick helped the Titans secure just their second win from the past six games to leap ahead of Canberra into eighth spot on the ladder, the Bulldogs now trailing fourth-placed Melbourne by five points with four rounds remaining.

The home side was left to rue a controversial video referee ruling when Josh Reynolds was denied a try in the 52nd minute which would have given the Bulldogs their first lead.
