U.S. President Barack Obama has conf i rmed his attendance at the coming high-level conference on Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) to be held in Bali in Early October 2013.

Also confirmed to attend is Russian president Vladimir Putin and Chinese president Xi Jinping in a group expected to eventuallu include 20 of the world's top leaders.

Thus far, 14 heads of state from 21 participating countries that are members of APEC have confirmed their attendance in Bali. An additional 7 heads of state may still confirm travel plans to Bali for early October.

APEC was founded in 1989 to foster economic cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region.

G'day again folks and let's try for another whirl at the weekly. This week is

the last one of the AFL season with the long awaited finals starting the

following week. I look forward to seeing who gets the top spots for the

Grand final and I know one thing for sure and that's the fact that Essendon

won't be allowed to play in the finals series. At time of writing it seems that

the powers that be have decided a fair resolution to the scandal is to strip the

bombers of all their points and refuse them a place in the final series. I think

it's almost the same as being hit in the face with a wet stick of celery as at the

end of the day they wouldn't have made it into the top eight as they have Richmond this week who will undoubtedly give

them a hiding. I think the A.F.L should have gone a bit harder with the punishment. I also understand from reports that

the coach “Hirdy” has stopped his court action against the league. Is that a clear sign that the man is guilty or is it an

economic decision based on the cost of such a venture. It occurs to me that the team was using a banned substance,

giving them the edge over other more professional outfits and they are going to pay a pathetic price for their sins. I look

forward to watching it all unravel and seeing what exactly happens over the next few months and beyond.

DenPost reports that at least one of the LED TVs deployed around Bali's capital city of Denpasar is unlicensed, lacking the necessary permits for legal operation.

The abundant number LED TV panels located around the city's skyline have recently come under fire for their heavy dependence on tobacco advertising and cluttered appearance, even though the use of cigarette products and advertising for cigarettes is

As a foreigner, there is a number of ways that can lead to you owning your dream property in Bali.

RIGHT OF USE (HAK PAKAI)This is the right of use over state-owned

(crown land) or property owned by public or private persons/entities for a specific purpose for (generally) a finite period and occasionally for an indefinite period. This land right may not be sold, exchanged or transferred unless explicitly state in an agreement.

Hak pakai may be held by and Indonesian individual or entity. Or foreigner permanently domiciled in

Indonesia, or a foreign legal entity with a representative office in Indonesia such as foreign Banks, embassies, etc.

NOMINEE SYSTEM FOR HAK MILIKThis structure is a regularly practiced

procedure in Indonesia, whereby the foreigner nominates and Indonesian representative to acquire the land and to hold the 'freehold' title (Hak Milik) on behalf of the foreigner.

Ownership of the land is transferred from the previous owner to the Indonesian nominee.

The foreigner and the Indonesian nominee then sign an agreement which recognizes the Indonesian nominee as the legal owner of the property whilst declaring the foreigner as the rightful owner of the property. This agreement denotes that the Indonesian nominee will carry out any directives from the foreigner regarding the land. This agreement must always be concluded in the presence of a public notary.

Angkasa Pura Owed at Least US$3.84 Million by Merpati Nusantara Airline

PT Angkasa Pura I has revealed that the debt owed to them for airport charges by PT Merpati Nusantara Airline has reached Rp. 38.4 billion (US$3,84 million).

According to Bisnis.com, the head of corporate administration for PT Angkasa Pura I, Harry Budi Waluyo, said that state-owned Merpati also has debts for aeronautic services due to a number of airports managed by Angkasa Pura I and Angkasa Pura II.

Waluyo told Bisnis.com, “The total debt of Merpati includes

the cost of services for landing fees at various airports.”

H a r r y r e p o r t e d t h a t according the finance department of Angkasa Pura I, that after reconciliation on June 30, 2012 the total debt of Merpati totals Rp. 38.4 billion.

Harry said Angkasa Pura I supports plans by the

management of Merpati to settle its debts and restructure the company. To this end, he added, Angkasa Pura will follow all instructions issued by the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) in order to resolve the financial problems of Merpati.

C o n t i n u i n g , h e s a i d Angkasa Pura was prepared to accept regular installments of its outstanding debt from Merpati or, alternatively, have the airline's debt converted into shares.

“We'll just follow the rules of the BUMN Ministry, as we are both State-owned companies,” said Harry.

Giant hovercraft disrupts beach daySun worshippers on a crowded beach in Russia were stunned when a giant military hovercraft appeared and ran up on to the shore.

The incident, on a beach in Kaliningrad on the Baltic Sea was caught on video and shows the massive black craft dwarfing all around it.

The Russian Navy's Baltic Fleet has reportedly confirmed it owns the vessel but said it had no

idea why there were so many people on a military beach.

The hovercraft was said to be practicing beach landings.

But last week at King River, even he was amazed when he saw this 4m saltie drag a full-grown cow into the water.

"I went back the day after and there was a croc at least two metres longer than that one there as well," Mr Rooke said. "I took my parents from Perth and they were totally shocked.

"When my mum saw the big one she jumped back in the car."

The cow was alive when he first saw it but soon stopped moving.

"Not a nice way to go," he said.

"That spot is frequented by people camping close to the river,

which is a worry given the size of some of the crocs."

Mr Rooke, of Wyndham, said the late crocodile hunter Steve Irwin inspired him to stalk crocs as a hobby. Though he says the region is perfect for his passion, his wife is "often concerned" when he comes home a little late.

But it has led Mr Rooke to photograph some of the Kimberley's biggest crocs, including one at Wyndham boat

ramp two years ago estimated to be 6-7m.

Now he is taking his hobby to the next level with a remote control helicopter camera.

Everyone knows the l a g o o n c i t y c a n b e expens ive but seven tourists from Rome got a bitter surprise when their bill for four coffees and three liqueurs at an outdoor cafe topped 100 euros ($130).

The scene of the mishap was the famed CaffeLavena in St. Mark's Square, where 19th century German composer Richard Wagner, who died in Venice in 1883, sat to have his morning coffee every day when he lived in the city.

What the Roman tourists

who posted their receipt on Facebook apparently did not notice when looking at the menu was the "music surcharge" of six euros per person. It added up to 42 euros, or nearly half of the bill.

The owners of the famous cafe, which opened in 1750 and where clients are served by whitejacketed wa i te rs as a chamber orchestra plays, defended themselves.

They said all the prices (six euros for a coffee and 10 for a liqueur) as well as the music surcharge, are printed on the menus.

"If they found the prices too high, they could have got up and gone somewhere else, like many people do, or have the coffee standing at the bar

inside, where it costs one euro," Lavena's manager, Massimo Milanese, told the Corrieredella Sera newspaper.

Indian police have foiled a bid by robbers to make off with a truck laden with onions, in an unusual crime apparently m o t i v a t e d b y rocketing prices of the staple food.

T h r e e m e n stopped a truck on the main road from the western city of Jaipur to the capital New Delhi on the pretence that their vehicle had been damaged in a collision.

After accusing the truck driver of causing the accident, one of the men jumped behind the wheel and the others fled.

Police were quickly alerted and they erected barricades on surrounding roads to stop the thieves.

Seeing their route blocked, the men abandoned their loot and

escaped on foot, allowing the grateful truck driver to continue on his journey.

"Hijackers target loaded trucks to loot goods but it is not u s u a l t o t a r g e t f o o d o r vegetables," Ram Kishore, a policeman from the northern district of Shahpura where the crime took place, said.

spike in prices caused by supply shortages, with a kilogram costing 60 rupees (less than a dollar) in the capital from as little as 15 rupees last year.

Rujak, a traditional Indonesian tropical fruit salad, is a favorite dish of many communities in Indonesia, as well as some of its neighboring countries, like Malaysia or Singapore.

The slices of assorted fruit, such as fresh mango, jambu air (water apple), starfruit, young papaya, pineapple and pommelo (a kind of pink grapefruit), mixed with a hot spicy palm sugar dressing may look and taste especially inviting during the hotter weather.

Rujak is made not only as a daily treat but also for c e r e m o n i a l p u r p o s e s , especially in Java where rujak is an essential part of the prenatal ceremony.

In Bali, rujak is also very popular, with various fruit mixtures and sauces available.

Warung Ibu Indra, a small, modest food stall located in North Denpasar, offers a delicious pommelo rujak, locally known as rujak jerungga.

In the past, pommelo was known as jeruk Bali — the Balinese citrus fruit, as it was cultivated massively on the island prior to being hit by a plant disease.

Pommelo is considered to be the king of citrus fruits for its sheer size: Some varieties are the size of a small basketball, while others are like an enormous grapefruit.

Pommelos also vary in color, from dark green on the outside to a coral-orange color and sometimes even yellow. The skin can be very thick, up to 2 inches,

depending on the hybrid. Some come to a peaked top (where the stem joins the tree), while others are completely round. The inner fruit ranges in color from white to pink.

Some farmers in Sanur still cultivate the pommelo plants, but Ibu Indra and the owners of other food stalls usually procure their fruit from Madiun in East Java.

Every day, Ibu Indra sells various types of rujak and other traditional meals, such as tipat cantok, rice cake steamed wrapped in young coconut leaves mixed with

vegetables, beans and peanut sauce.However, rujak jerungga is her most

popular dish. Ibu Indra prepares a large amount of thick, sweet dressing made of palm sugar, chili and shrimp paste, sometimes with vinegar.

She can modify the types of rujak according to the customer's demand. For rujak

jerungga, she slices the pommelo's pink juicy fruit, then pours the thick dressing onto the fruit.

Humble: Ibu Indra's simple warung only has five main items on its menu.

Goat-sex man banned from farmsA MAN has been banned from all f a r m s w h e r e animals are kept a f t e r a d m i t t i n g h a v i n g s e x u a l intercourse with a goat.

Robert Newman, 23, will be sentenced next month after pleading guilty at North West Wiltshire Magistrates' Court in Chippenham to a charge of having sex with a living animal contrary to the Sexual Offences Act 2003.

Newman, of Potterne Road, Devizes, Wiltshire, had originally denied the offence which took place in April this year at Devizes and was due to stand trial but later

pleaded guilty.He is due to be

s e n t e n c e d o n September 12 after a pre-sentence report has been prepared.

In the meantime Newman was released on conditional bail and must obey a curfew between 7pm and 7am. He is also not allowed to enter any land where

farm animals are kept.The offence carries a

maximum sentence of six months' imprisonment on summary conviction.

T h e A r k a n s a s Senate passed a bill to ban tattoos, p ie rc ings and other similar body m o d i f i c a t i o n s w h i c h i t characterizes as “non-traditional,” recently.

Senator Missy Irvin of Mountain View, Arkansas sponsored the bill entitled ”An Act To Limit Body Art Procedures” . She s a y s t h a t b o d y modifications should be limited to “traditional” tattoos and piercings. Her proposal was to essen t ia l l y ban scarification procedures and dermal implants, as well as certain tattoos which remain yet to be defined as by the vague language of the bill she sponsored.

Almost unbelievably, this bill passed by a 26-4 vote. Following this, the bill was sent to the House, where it took on even more vague language. See the link above for the bill as it was eventually “compromised” on in the House. The scarification ban

Dear Martha,

Last week I was doing the usual catching up with friends in Kuta, I decided to have a wonder through a market as I hadn't been there in a while. I was walking through the market when I suddenly saw a good friend of mine. I was about to go over and say hi when this woman comes up to him.For a second I thought she worked there but then he put his arm around her and they kissed! I was so shocked. I hid myself and watched them for a minute until they walked away and I am 100 percent they are not just friends. They were all over each other. I called my friend straight away and told her and she said I have to tell his wife. The worst part is we had a dinner that night with them and he was acting completely normal, he even kissed her! I felt sick all night and had to pretend I had a stomach ache.I have no idea who the woman is and I don't know what to do. We've always had a great relationship up until now that is. His wife has always been a good wife as far as I know and I thought they were happy. I know a lot of people run around with others here but I never thought this man would. This is such a betrayal. What should I do?

First and foremost dear don't assume anything and don't do anything till you've spoken to your friend and understood what he has to say including reading between the lines. Don't just assume your friend is a rat bag and filth, worthy of the meanest cruelty. Just maybe he isn't. Maybe you just have no idea of the reality. Don't forget, once something is done, it can't be undone. As a wise proverb states, measure 7 times, cut once. All too often in our society, and I've lived in a few different ones, we cut first and then decide to measure over and over, often understanding that we cut wrongly. Above all else, tread carefully, very carefully.

Savage Garden was an Australian pop rock duo consisting of Darren Hayes as vocalist and Daniel Jones as instrumentalist. Formed in Logan City, Queensland in 1994, the duo achieved international success in late 1990s and early 2000s with the number-one hit singles "I Want You", "To the Moon and Back", "Truly Madly Deeply", "The Animal Song" and "I Knew I Loved You". Their two studio albums, Savage Garden and Affirmation reached number-one in Australia and peaked in the top ten in both the United Kingdom and United States.

The group won a record number of ten ARIA Music Awards in 1997 for their debut album and its related singles. They disbanded in 2001 and Hayes continued as a solo artist.In 1993, multi-instrumentalist and producer Daniel Jones placed an advertisement in Brisbane newspaper Time Off seeking a vocalist for his five-piece covers band Red Edge which he had formed with his brothers. Darren Hayes, who was studying at university, was the only respondent and joined after his first audition. Red Edge played venues along the Gold Coast pub and club circuit, while Hayes and Jones started to write original material. In June 1994, Hayes and Jones left Red Edge to pursue a career together originally as Crush. The new duo was renamed Savage Garden after a phrase from The Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice, "The mind of each man is a savage garden".

By year's end, the pair had enough songs for a demo tape, they sent 150 copies to various record companies around the world. John Woodruff (The Angels, Baby Animals, Diesel) was the only positive response, he became their manager and negotiated a contract with Roadshow Music/Warner Music. In 1995, they entered the studio to work on their debut album with producer, Charles Fisher (Air Supply, Moving Pictures, 1927)Debut album

In July 1996, Savage Garden released their debut single "I Want You" under Roadshow Music. It peaked at No. 4 on the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) Singles Chart and on the 1996 End of Year Singles Chart was highest placed by an Australian artist. On 30 September, they received

Girl dies in freak

A southern Utah girl died last week from injuries she received after a

freak gust of wind carried away a backyard trampoline she was on, a spokeswoman for the Garfield County Sheriff's Office said.

The girl, OakleeSidwell, 9, of Panguitch, in south-central Utah, had been playing on the trampoline and sat on it to put her shoes on, spokeswoman Cheryl Church said.

A large gust of wind lifted the trampoline off the ground, carrying it and the girl about 50 yards before she was dropped, she said.Sidwell was flown to a Salt Lake City hospital and died. Church said the trampoline was anchored and described the girl's death as a "freak accident."

Spending a penny could cost $16 in ChinaPeople with a poor aim are to be fined if they m i s s t h e i r m a r k w h e n using public toi lets in a Chinese city, officials said p r o v o k i n g o n l i n e derision over how the rule w i l l b e enforced.

The penalty will apply to those who urinate outside the bowl of facilities in Shenzhen, the southern boom town neighbouring Hong Kong, although draft regulations did not specify a minimum quantity of spillage required to be classed as a violation.

"Such uncouth use of a public toilet will be fined 100 yuan ($16) by authorities" from next month, a city government official said.

U s e r s o f C h i n a ' s rumbustious weibo social networks poured scorn on the measures, raising the prospect of hordes of toilet inspectors being deployed to inspect performance.

"A number of new civil servant positions wil l be created. There will be a superv isor behind every urinating person to see whether the pee is straight," wrote one poster.

Another added: "Very good measures. I expect they can create 20 jobs on average for every public toilet."

Man revives 45 minutes after heart stopsA man whose heart stopped beating for 45 minutes credits his faith for being alive and says stunned doctors who declared him dead aren't s u r e w h a t happened.

Collingwood's Travis Cloke has taken the lead in the tight race for the AFL's Coleman Medal during a Magpie demolition of a limp West Coast.

The Magpies climbed into fifth spot at least temporarily with their 15.11 (101) to 5.9 (39) win at the MCG on Friday night, as they tuned up for an elimination final the weekend after next.

But it could hardly have been termed a finals dress rehearsal, given the lack of pressure applied by the injury-depleted Eagles, whose two biggest losses this year have now come in the past two rounds.

Their total on Friday night was their lowest ever against Collingwood.

The Magpies kicked eight of the game's first nine goals, the first five of those coming in a 10-minute burst, to put the result virtually beyond doubt inside the first quarter.

They had 74 more disposals than the Eagles and still laid 15 more tackles.

Cloke kicked three goals to move to 61 for the season, one clear of West Coast's Josh Kennedy, Hawthorn's Jarryd Roughead and Greater Western Sydney's Jeremy Cameron, who had started the round tied for the lead.

Kennedy did not add to his tally on Friday night, starved of opportunities given Collingwood's midfield dominance.

Ex-defender Ben Reid again showed his value in attack with four majors.

Magpie 2011 Brownlow Medallist Dane Swan did no harm to his chances of vying for another with a 34-disposal, two-goal game, including a classy running major under pressure late in the first quarter.

The one sour note for the Magpies was an injury to Luke Ball, who was subbed out of the game at the start of the second half.

The silver lining was that it gave veteran substitute Alan Didak the chance to play a full half in his first AFL game since round 11.

That delighted the 41,198-strong crowd, who cheered each of his 15 touches, particularly his last-term goal.

Essendon Bombers out of 2013 AFL finals as punishment for supplements program

Essendon will not play in the 2013 finals and coach James Hird will be s u s p e n d e d f o r 1 2 months over the club's c o n t r o v e r s i a l supplements program.

The AFL has also fined the Bombers $2 million and stripped the club of its first two draft picks for the 2013 and 2014 draft.

Essendon football manager Danny Corcoran has been suspended for six-months, while assistant coach Mark Thompson has been fined $30,000.

A F L c h a i r m a n M i k e Fitzsimmons said that club doctor Bruce Reid is contesting the charge of bringing the game into disrepute.

Fitzsimmons said that Hird 's suspension wi l l be backdated to August 25, and he will not be able to work at any AFL club during the proceeding 12 months.

Fitzsimmons said that the Bombers, who are currently placed seventh in the AFL premiership, will officially finish ninth for the season.

"The club will forfeit its place in the 2013 AFL finals series," he said.

"It will not play in the 2013 finals series, being deemed to have finished the 2013

premiership season in ninth position.

"The club is prohibited from exercising at the 2013 and 2014 national drafts its round one and round two selections.

"The Essendon football club in 2014 will be granted a selection at the end of round one at the national draft prior to any c o m p e n s a t i o n s e l e c t i o n s otherwise awarded and under the rules."

Essendon acknowledges 'experimental and inappropriate' program

Fitzsimmons said Essendon had admitted to failing in its duty of care towards its player in delivering an "experimental, inappropriate, a n d i n a d e q u a t e l y v e t t e d " supplements program.

He also said that Essendon is unaware of whether the club admin is te red p layers w i th prohibited substances.

"The AFL acknowledges that neither the Essendon football club nor any of the individuals charged s e t o u t t o i m p l e m e n t a supplements program that would r e s u l t i n p l a y e r s b e i n g administered prohib i ted or potentially harmful substances," he said.

However, the Essendon football club today acknowledged that i t had es tab l ished a supplements program which was experimental, inappropriate, and i n a d e q u a t e l y v e t t e d a n d controlled.

"And, in relation to that program, the club, firstly, failed to ensure it adequately protected the health and welfare and safety of the players.

"Secondly, there was a risk that Essendon players couldn't h a v e b e e n a d m i n i s t e r e d substances prohibited by the AFL anti-doping code and the World

Anti-Doping Code and any such risk is an unacceptable risk.

"Thirdly, the Essendon Football Club is now unable to determine whether the Essendon players were administered some substances prohibited by the AFL anti-doping code and the World Anti-Doping Code."

Suspensions the result of tense negotiations

Negotiations between the Bombers and league officials over punishments for the scandal had been ongoing over the past two days.

The AFL had reportedly pressured the Bombers to accept the penalties on the table or risk heavier punishments.

Former AFL official Adrian Anderson told 7.30 that any fine the club received would be the least of their worries.

"The [penalty] that matters a lot to football clubs is draft picks - they are the life blood of the future of a football club," he said.

"The fine is the least significant here. We saw with Carlton the sanctions that they were meted out for salary cap breaches - the long-term effects that the loss of draft picks can have - and I think the fine is probably the least significant [penalty]."

Thompson told Fox Footy on Monday night that it would be terrible for Essendon if Hird was suspended for a year.

"If he was to lose 12 months it'd be disastrous," Thompson said.

"He's a young coach who is learning his way and he didn't deliberately set out to do anything wrong.

"I would think if the AFL knocked him out for 12 months, he would struggle to want to get back."
