1 Introduction

1.1 Main Features of KYOCERA Cloud Connect

The main features of KYOCERA Cloud Connect (abbreviated to "Cloud Connect") are as

follows:

Upload the scanned image to Evernote using MFP.

Print the image in Evernote from MFP.

Create an Evernote account.

Upload the scanned image to Google Drive using MFP.

Print the image and Google Document in Google Drive from MFP.

1.2 Overview

This document explains the procedure to use Cloud Connect that connects to the Evernote

service and Google Drive service.

Chapter 1 outlines this Guide.

Chapter 2 explains the procedure to install the application in MFP and activate it.

Chapter 3 explains the method of the proxy setting.

Chapter 4 explains the method of switching enable/disable for the function “Stay Signed in”.

2 Installing Cloud Connect

2.1 Files Required

KYOCERAcloudconnect-xxxxxx.pkg

2.2 Install and Activation of Application

1 Place KYOCERAcloudconnect-xxxxxx.pkg file to the root of a clean USB flash drive.

2 At the MFP control panel, open System Menu/Counter > Favorites/Application. (Figure 2-1)

If the authentication page is displayed, log in as Administrator.

4 Press "+ (Add)" button. (Figure 2-3)

5 Insert USB flash drive into the MFP.

Select Cloud Connect and press Install. (Figure 2-4)

After installation, press "End" to return to the Applications screen.

7 Select "Activate" on the menu screen. (Figure 2-6)

8 Press "Official" then enter the license key provided, otherwise Press "Trial" if using it as trial.

NOTE: Please be aware that once you uninstall the application, you will no longer be able to use it as

trial.

2.3 Updating Application

Please update Cloud Connect according to the following procedure:

1 Place KYOCERAcloudconnect-xxxxxx.pkg file to the root of a clean USB flash drive.

2 At the MFP control panel, open System Menu/Counter > Favorites/Application > Application.

(Refer to 2.2)

3 Press "+ (Add)" button. (Figure 2-3)

4 Insert USB flash drive into the MFP.

Select Cloud Connect and press Install. (Figure 2-4)

After installation, press "End" to return to the Applications screen.

3 Proxy Settings

If Cloud Connect access to the Internet via proxy server is required, it is necessary to set proxy

information in Cloud Connect and proxy information in the system menu.

3.1 Proxy settings in Cloud Connect

In order for Cloud Connect to access the Internet using a proxy server, it is necessary to set

proxy information in Cloud Connect.

There are two ways to display the proxy settings page:

Display proxy settings page at the initial launch of Cloud Connect

Display proxy settings page from the top page of Cloud Connect

3.1.1 Display Proxy settings Page at the Initial Launch of Cloud Connect

1 At the initial launch of the application a "Terms of Service" screen is displayed. (Figure 3-1)

Please be sure to read the content of "Terms of Service".

2 By selecting "Agree", the "Proxy Settings" screen is displayed. (Figure 3-2)

On the proxy settings page, please input the host names under the Address field, Port numbers,

no proxy domains, user name, and password. Then, press the "OK" button.

NOTE: If you connect to the Internet directly without a proxy server, please click on the "Cancel"

button.

NOTE: Cloud Connect uses proxy informations which are set in the system menu. If it is grayed out ,

please set the host names, port numbers, and no proxy domains in the system menu. On the

proxy settings page of Cloud Connect, please input user name and password (Figure 3-2).

3 On the proxy settings page (Figure 3-5), please input the host names, port numbers, no proxy

domains, user name, and password. Then, press "OK".

NOTE: If you connect to the Internet directly without a proxy server, please click on the "Cancel"

button.

NOTE: Cloud Connect uses proxy informations which are set in the system menu. If it is grayed out ,

please set the host names, port numbers, and no proxy domains in the system menu. On the

proxy settings page of Cloud Connect, please input user name and password (Figure 3-5).

3.2 Proxy Settings in System Menu

At the time of the sign-in to the Google Drive service, Cloud Connect displays the browser of

MFP. In order for the browser to access the sign-in page of Google, it is necessary to set proxy

information in the system menu.

1 At the MFP control panel, open System Menu/Counter > Internet. (Figure 3-6)

For some model, open System Menu > System/Network (Figure 3-6A) > Network. (Figure 3-6B)

If the authentication page is displayed, log in as Administrator.

3 If you connect to the Internet with a proxy server, select "On". (Figure 3-8)

NOTE: If you connect to the Internet directly without a proxy server, please select "Off".

4 If you click "HTTP Proxy Server" (Figure 3-9), the software keyboard opens (Figure 3-10).

If HTTPS proxy server is different from HTTP proxy server, please set "Use Same Proxy" to

"Off".

If HTTPS proxy server is different from HTTP proxy server, please continue to set "HTTPS

Proxy Server" and its "Port".

4 Enable/Disable “Stay Signed In” Function

The administrator can choose to enable/disable the Stay Signed In function in the cloud

service (Evernote or Google Drive).

4.1 What is “Stay Signed In” Function?

The user can stay signed in the cloud service even when the application is closed by pressing

standard function buttons (Copy, Send etc) or HOME button, when "Stay Signed In" function

checkbox is checked. User can stay signed in after logging in the cloud service for about 60

minutes.

Only MFPs that have HOME screen support this function. In MFPs which doesn’t have HOME

screen (where the application will not be closed by switching screen to standard functions), this

function is disabled.

When the Stay Signed In function is enabled, the checkbox “Stay signed in” will be displayed

after logging in the cloud service. (Figure 4-1)

When the Stay Signed In function is disabled or when MFP doesn’t have HOME screen, the

checkbox “Stay signed in” will not be displayed after logging in cloud service. (Figure 4-2)

4.2 Switch Enable/Disable for “Stay Signed-in”

1 Press the " (Settings)" button. (Figure 4-3)

If the authentication page is displayed, log in as Administrator.

NOTE: In MFPs which doesn’t have HOME screen, “Application Settings” will not be displayed.

3 To enable Stay Signed In function, check on ‘Display "Stay signed in"’ on application settings

page. To disable, uncheck -. Then, press “OK”.

Appendix

This chapter describes troubleshooting for the use of Cloud Connect.

When a communication error occurs in Cloud Connect

When Cloud Connect may not be correctly connected to the network, the screen such as Figure

A-1 is displayed.

If such a screen is displayed, please try the following steps:

Check the cable connection between the network/modem and MFP.

Check the network settings of the MFP in the system menu.

Check that the proxy settings of Cloud Connect are correct. When you change user

information of the proxy server certification, MFP reboot may be necessary.

At the time of the sign-in to the Google Drive service, Cloud Connect displays the browser of

MFP.

When the browser may not be correctly connected to the network, the following screen is
