Her untiring dedication to her work led the judging team to crown her with this year’s title.She fought off competi- tion from twenty other housekeepers across the region. Mr Antoine Flouty, Area General Manager of IHG hotels in Kuwait appreciated her dedication and commitment. He mentioned her contribution in rebranding Crowne Plaza Kuwait into Holiday Inn Al Thuraya City and also opening a new Crowne Plaza Kuwait Al Thuraya City was phenomenal which is what made her stand out in the awards category. The Hotelier Middle East Awards 2016 took place on October 26, 2016, at The Ritz-Carlton DIFC. T he full day event held at the Hilton Hotel Resort Mangaf and Touristic Park Abbasiya on 13th of October consisted the making of Bathukamma and the main event was organized by Telangana Jagruthi Kuwait under Patronage of Mr Hari Prasad Chellamsetty, Telangana Jagruthi Kuwait President Mr Vinay Muthyala and team members were welcomed with enthusiasm. The special guests received a grand welcome at Kuwait international airport by Telangana Jagruthi Kuwait team and other prominent people from Kuwait. The event started at 9am in Hilton Hotel Telangana’s prominent women’s group gathering wel- comed guest of honor Kalvakuntla Kavitha and her team. Bathukamma (‘Mother Goddess come Alive’) represents the cultural spirit of Telangana Kalvakuntla Kavitha is an ambassador of this cultural event. Kavithakka took pledge to keep alive this age old tradition of making Bathukamma. She herself sat to make beautiful flower stack, she arranged flower pyramid with different unique seasonal flowers most of them with medicinal values imported from Telangana Region to Kuwait. She also sang folk songs while arranging seven concen- tric layers of the different color flowers in the shape of temple gopuram along with nonresidents of Telangana and Kuwaiti women’s group. While making bathukam- ma, Ms Abhilasha Suresh interviewed her, the live interview was telecasted in region- al televisions of Telangana and in all Jagruthi organization websites. Thousands of Telanganites from across Kuwait hit the Touristic Park Abbasiya audi- torium Second half of the event started at Touristic Park Abbasiya Auditorium with welcomed the auspicious gathering a warm welcome by hosts Mrs Vijaya Nirmala Yadav Nair and Abhilasha Suresh, as they set the mood for the special evening of the day. This was followed with an impressive performance of classical dance which was performed by Telangana’s blooming talents Vishnu Priya by Shivathandav.
