NOTE FROM THE ACTING PRESIDENT We welcomed the Fall season recently with our Champagne Opener, held on September 14 as our kick-off event for our new membership year. Hosting the event at their home, were Mercedes and Doug Kucyk. What wonderful hosts they are, providing tables, overseeing parking and helping us prepare food. We are so grateful for their generous help and hospitality and we welcome them into our community. They are pictured here with our acting President and Treasurer, Christiane Stein. We especially thank Marc Robert, our chef for the evening, preparing wonderful quiches and other foods for us. Jane Frahm and Cheryl Johns worked during the day to set up tables and chairs and dinnerware. Flowers were provided by K. Burt Wilson. Our thanks to all who attended, worked, and helped clean up afterward. HIGHLIGHT ON OUR BOARD OF DIRECTORS: Christiane Stein, pictured above in pink with Mercedes and Doug Kucyk, is a native French speaker, born in Belgium. She is a past president of our Alliance, our current Treasurer, and now Acting President. Christiane started our French lessons program at Assumption over 15 years ago.
