League of Latinos is a Latino based association. Our main objectives is to embrace the diverse Latino culture, address the lack of Latinos in higher education, and establish a positive family- like community for the Latinos attending Henderson State University. We will be addressing issues that effect the Latino students on campus and begin a community outreach program that will provide the necessary tools and encouragement for Latino high school students around the state to pursue college degrees. Hometown: Chiclayo, Peru

Title: Associate Dean of Students

Degree: Doctorate in Adult Education. Empha-sis in Multicultural Education & Instructional Technology

Dr. Salazar joined HSU on March 4, 2013. She was previously the Director of Hispanic Outreach & Retention at Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah, GA.

Dr. Salazar is responsible for the Student Government Association, Student organiza-tions, League Initiative Heart Start, pom pon squad, the Chamber Alliance Ambassador program and Student Leadership Center.

Major: Communications

Campus Involvement: Oracle, Student Support Services and League of Latinos (Former Vice-President)

The 22– year old is unconventional in many ways, which coincides with his entre-preneurial spirit. He obtained a Christian Media Associate’s degree from Ouachita Hills College , located in Amity, AR.

He is currently the HSU Oracle Webmas-ter. He is also the founder of Adventist Stu-dents for Christ student organization.

His long-term goals is to work in media at the international level.
