    Labour welfare entitles all those activities of

    employer, which are directed towards providing

    the employees with certain facilities & services

    in addition to wages or salaries

    The welfare measures need not to benecessarily in monetary terms but in any form.

    EXAMPLE : Working conditions, creation of

    industrial harmony through infrastructure for

    health, insurance against disease, accident &unemployment for the workers & their families

    etc.

    arrangements for travel to & from work, and forthe accommodation of workers employed at a

    MEANING

    SECURITY which has great importance to

    the workers & their families well-being.

    It varies from country to country with differentpolitical ideologies.

    EXAMPLE :

    1. SOCIALIST COUNTRIES, the goal is complete

    protection to every citizen from birth to death.

    2. NATIONS WITH LESS REGIMENTED

    ECONOMIES, the goal is protection afforded to

    al needy citizens by means of schemes. 21

    It can b taken to mean the protection whichsociety provides for its members, through series

    of public measures, against the economic &

    social distress that otherwise would be causedby the stoppage or substantial reduction of

    invalidity, old age & death : the provision of

    medical care & of subsidies for family with

    children.

    RECENT TRENDS IN INDIA

    CAFETERIA STYLE is a recent approach

    to benefits.

    Under this system, each employee is

    allowed to select on individual combination

    of benefits within some over all limits.

    It allows employees to have the benefits

    they need & desire most.Through active involvement of employee in

    benefits selection, they become more

    aware of the benefits they have & of their
