County Extension Agent for Family & Consumer Sciences

Traveling can be a great adventure to share with family and friends. This program will provide tips for planning, preparing, and packing for your next adventure. A little research and organization before you go can make your trip an entertaining, enjoyable and memorable experience.

Join us Wednesday, February 15 at 12:00 noon. Gina Noe, Madison County Extension Agent for FCS, will review the steps for planning, organizing, and enjoying your next travel adventure.

What a great way to spend a cold winter day -- and your family involved -- GAME DAY. Sassie Crafts will have games Friday, February 10 from 10 am to 12 noon. Join us as we learn how to play Bridge, Test our vocabulary in Scrabble, and be the next CSI in Clue. Be sure to call and hold your spot!! (859-744-4682)

Most of us want to treat a loved one to a special treat for Valentine’s Day, but we may not want to show

our love with candy. Look for chocolate dipped strawberries or a fresh fruit bouquet to give your dearest some good nutrition. Homemade banana or pumpkin bread might be a good way to show that you care. If candy is a must, look for dark chocolate with a high percentage of cacao, which provides anti-oxidants. Some dark chocolate candies also have healthy fruits, like blueberries or cranberries, added. Spending some time walking and listening to your beloved is a sure way to please your sweetheart. Hitting the dance floor to a song that brings back memories will keep the romance alive. Sharing your life with someone you love can improve health and wellbeing and may prolong the years you spend together. Be sure to share some Valentine’s Day cheer with someone who may be lonely this year. A healthy treat or card can let them know you are thinking of them.
