What’s new for 2017?Even before our 2016 summer camp season had come to a close, we had already begun planning the improvements and/or changes we will be making for next summer.Last year, we were busy adding the new halfpipe at the skatepark, rebuilding the giant’s ladder at Adventure, and renovating the Quails/Meadowlarks cabin. We also refur-bished the Dining Hall floor, poured a concrete sidewalk to the Infirmary, and purchased another 12-passenger van. After such a busy schedule last year, we wondered, is there anything left on our to do list for 2017? Well, here’s what we have come up with so far.

- New Yamaha keyboards for the music program.- Circus Arts keeps getting bigger and better. This sum-

mer, with the purchase of juggling balls and clubs, we added juggling. Next summer, we will be purchasing new silks and adding another exciting aerial apparatus to silks n’ single, a spanish web.

- Due to the increasing popularity of our waterskiing, wakeboarding, and tubing program, we will be adding a second motor boat.

- 7-speed, 20” mountain bikes, great for our younger campers!

- New heavy-duty aluminium framed, floating docks are being constructed for the lakefront. In addition, we are also adding a new 4’ x 20’ fishing dock!

We’re just getting started. There are more improvements and changes that are being considered that we believe make Lake Greeley Camp even better than it already is. We will keep you posted once these improvements are finalized.

Matt’s Facts of the Day (of the Month)

Nearly everyday during the summer Matt would read his Facts of the Day. Some of the facts were funny while others were informative. His reading of the “Facts” has become a daily ritual we have grown to expect and enjoy. Therefore, here is this month’s installment of the Facts of the Day. Campers, you know the routine. Clap twice and say, “Facts!” after you read each of the following facts!

Fact #1 - The term zip in zip code is an acronym for zone improvement plan.

Fact #2: The famous “Here’s Johnny!” scene in the movie, “The Shining”, took 3 days to film and the use of 60 doors.
