REDEFINING MOBILITYLake Nona is building a first-of-its-kind mobility network to integrate multi-modal systems into a rapidly developing urban fabric that accommodates pedestrians, cyclists (both casual and commuter), electric-assist personal vehicles, an autonomous vehicle fleet, and city-to-city flight.

B O L D M O B I L I T Y P R O J E C T S

A E R O T R O P O L I S : Lake Nona has been recognized as an emerging aerotropolis – an airport-centric economic development region that harnesses the opportunities an aerospace (airport/spaceport) brings to a region. Located contiguous to each other, Lake Nona and the Orlando International Airport (MCO) encompass 37 square miles of land under control of just two entities, the Airport Authority and Lake Nona’s developer and land owner, Tavistock Group.

A U T O N O M O U S M O B I L I T Y: Lake Nona is a home to the largest and longest running single-site autonomous fleet in the U.S., operated by Lake Nona-headquartered Beep Mobility Solutions.

∙ Since launching the region’s first autonomous shuttle fleet in September 2019, the program has carried 30,000+ passengers

∙ The autonomous mobility program has improved public safety and quality of life for residents and visitors by further enabling modal choice while reducing the burdens of commuting and congestion-related emissions

∙ What started with two shuttles on a single route, has now expanded to include a fleet of 10 shuttles that travel along five different routes covering 8 miles of connectivity

L A K E N O N A V E R T I P O R T: The future of transportation is taking flight in Lake Nona. By 2025, Lake Nona will be home to the nation’s first high-speed, electric air mobility hub servicing all-electric, vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft manufactured by Lilium. Known as the Lake Nona Vertiport, the first-of-its-kind aviation facility will serve as a regional mobility network hub designed to usher in a new era of city-to-city transportation.

L O C A L A LT E R N AT I V E M O B I L I T Y N E T W O R K : The project, already underway and partially funded by a U.S. DOT BUILD Grant, will modify existing and create new infrastructure including multi-modal corridors, dedicated commuter ways, mobility hubs, and autonomous vehicle support infrastructure designed to reduce automobile dependency and carbon emissions. The centerpiece of the project is Greenlink Park. Instead of a conventional automobile street, the park will feature dedicated micro-mobility lanes, autonomous vehicle lanes, and pedestrian paths organized around a waterway.

“An important part of Orlando’s emerging presence as a

mature and innovative city is Lake Nona”

C O N TA C T [email protected]

“The master-planned community feels like it’s equal parts

proof of concept and grand social experiment. Lake

Nona was able to effectively start from scratch, creating a

community built around the necessities and amenities of

our modern culture, economy, and way of living.”

“Located on 17-square-miles of land adjacent to the

Orlando International Airport, Lake Nona is a modern

mecca for technology, innovation, and community.”

“Lake Nona is anchored an impressive town center

where a creative urban vibe is evident in its architecture.

Four- and five-story office buildings, hotels, restaurants,

small businesses and sidewalks, plus public art and a

color-themed design put it a notch above other planned

communities.”
