This is an exclusive article written by well-known Baul Poet Arun Kumar Chakraborty and it was published in his magazine "AUM", (published from Ashram of Sudhir Khyapa, Tamaltoli, Kenduli, Birbhum, West Bengal) on 14th January, 2010. "O TUI LAAL PAHARIR DESHE JAA" is an invaluable gem of Bengali folk songs. This song was composed by Baul poet Arun Kumar Chakraborty. (address: Musafir Baul, Sonajhuri, 72, Farmside Road, Chinsurah R.S., Hooghly-712102, West Bengal). The poem was written in the year 1972. In the middle of the '70s the song was first time sung by folk singer Subhas Chakraborty of Bankura and an Extended Play (E.P.) 45 RPM Record was released by the legendary musician late V. Balsara from "ENRICO" music company. Later many bauls, folk artists, popular band groups like "Bhumi" and many other singers, all over Bengal as well as India, including talented blind singer Biswanath Adhikary sung this memorable song.
