the site achieve the highest standards of universal
accessibility possible
Review of on-site accessibility features by City’s
Accessibility Consultant for Lansdowne (BDEL)
Met with Accessibility Advisory Committee to discuss
accessibility features of site and transportation options

The Lansdowne site is a welcoming inclusive site designed to
be accessible to everyone, including persons with disabilities
and older persons. – Betty Dion, BDEL Enterprises
Accessibility features include:
• Stadium: seating, wayfinding, washrooms, etc
• Urban park: pathways, seating, play structure
• Public realm: wayfinding, tactile indicators,
directories, etc
• Accessible transportation options: AODA
compliant shuttle buses and transit options

Showcasing Sustainability LEED ND submission being finalized for the Lansdowne
site
Some sustainability features built into the site include:
• Minto@lansdowne LEED Gold homes
• Cycling features
• Water re-use for irrigation in the urban park and
improving drainage through green space
• EV charging
• White roofs
• Transit for future site residents
• Game day shuttles

Urban Park Programming
We are reaching out and there is significant interest in
booking events at Lansdowne Park
• Over 20 event organizers have expressed interest, including major
festivals
• Over 20 many site tours with local, national and international event
organizers
• Several events already confirmed for 2014 and 2015
Working in partnership with OSEG and Ottawa Farmer’s
Market to develop complimentary programming and unified
customer service approach

Programming and events at Lansdowne start soon • Winter programming at Ottawa’s 3rd refrigerated outdoor ice rink
• Lansdowne will be an integral feature of Winterlude
• Working with local community service delivery partners on range of
programs
• Developing programming to suit Horticultural Building and
Aberdeen Pavilion
