ANANGEL MILLENNIUM 170,415-dwt Bulk Carrier
BULK CARRIERS / CAPESIZE
The 170,415-dwt bulk carrier ANANGEL MILLENNIUM
was built at Sasebo Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. and deliv-
ered to Longview Shipping Inc. in February 2000.
Features1. The ship is designed within the maximum limitation
of the ship’s dimension to enter the port of Dunkirk,
and has achieved maximum hold capacity and dead-
weight in this limitation.
2. High-tensile steel is minimized in the hull construc-
tion.
3. Fatigue analysis is applied by ABS Safe Hull.
4. Pipe passage is arranged in double bottom space and
bilge and ballast piping are accommodated in this
space.

CIELO LUCIA 73,852-dwt Bulk Carrier
The 73,852-dwt Panamax type bulk carrier CIELO LUCIA
was built at Sasebo Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (SSK) and
delivered to Capullo Maritime S.A. in October 1999.
Features1. This vessel is the 10th vessel of the series of Panamax
bulk carrier built by SSK.
2. Four (4) sets of 30-ton electric four (4) rope type deck
cranes are equipped.
3. SS Fin (Sasebo Stern Fin) developed by SSK is fitted at
the stern of this vessel to promote propulsion effi-
ciency.
4. Fuel oil tanks are arranged at aft topside and no oil
tank in double bottom to minimize oil leakage and
prevent oil pollution.

At the beginning of April 2000, 60MW Barge Mounted
Power Plant (BMPP) was delivered to Sri Lanka from
Sasebo Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (SSK) and has been
sitting on the seabed in the port of Colombo.
It was the third BMPP for SSK, former two BMPP were of
the floating type.
All detail design and construction of the third BMPP were
carried out by SSK.
The BMPP, connected to the national grid of Ceylon Elec-
tricity Board (CEB), will supply 420GWh of electricity per
year, accounting for approximately 5% of the total capac-
ity of Sri Lanka.
CPPL (Colombo Power (Private) Limited) has been es-
tablished as IPP (Independent Power Producer) com-
pany of the BMPP by the Japanese Mitsui Engineering &
Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. and Kawasho Corporation on a 50/
50 basis.
The BMPP consists of four (4) MAN B&W 2-stroke low
speed diesel engine which are equally arranged in the
fore and aft engine room.
Common section in which the control room, HV & LV
panels, aux. machineries and mess room are arranged, is
located in the middle of the barge.
In consideration of ecology, a big-capacity dust collec-
tor is provided for each of the top exhaust funnel of main
engines.
