AFFILIATIONS

EQUIFEST The two highest placed exhibits not already qualified will qualify for the relevant Equifest Championship to be held at the East of England Showground on the 29th Aug – 1st Sep 2019.

MHCGB These classes are run under the rules of the MHCGB, a copy of which can be obtained from The President, MHCGB, Newclose Farm, Calf Fallow Lane, Norton, Stockton on Tees, TS20 1PQ. Or download from www.mhcgb.co.uk . Classes open to non- members provided they are eligible to compete with MHCGB. Non-members who qualify will be required to become members within 4 weeks of qualification should they wish to attend the Championship Show. Membership is required to be in by 31st July. This show is a qualifier for MHCGB National Championship Show - 24th - 26th August 2019 – held at the Oakridge Arena. 1st-3rd place to qualify.

THE TRADITIONAL GYPSY COB ASSOCIATION No known breeding required to enter these classes Affiliation Number: 19/1307/3/ULT TGCA Breed classes are qualifiers for the Best of Breed Finals at the Traditional Gypsy Cob Association's (TGCA) National Breed Championship Show “TOYS”. Classes are open to all traditional gypsy cobs. Part Bred classes, are open to all part bred traditional gypsy cobs and are qualifiers for the part bred finals at “TOYS”. The exhibit must have one parent that is traditional gypsy cob. Stallions – All stallions (4 years and over) in order to enter any TGCA affiliated class MUST be TGCA registered, have passed TGCA stallion evaluations and their TGCA stallion disc displayed on their bridle. Stallions and colts over the age of two, MUST be shown in a stallion bridle with a metal bit and chain lead as per the current TGCA rulebook. Current TGCA members must present their Membership card and Qualification card to the judge in the ring for signature. Non-members MUST receive a qualification card from the judge and have 21 days to join the TGCA and register their horse to validate the qualification. OLYMPIA ANTHONY EVANS SSADL HOME PRODUCED FIRST ROUND QUALIFIER 2019 The Olympia Anthony Evans SSADL Home Produced First Round Qualifiers only are OPEN to both Members and Non-Members of SSADL No Spurs, No Galloping, No Wearing of Face/Body Jewellery. Foals are NOT permitted SSADL Classes For In-Hand Classes- Minimum age of handler = 9 years old Ridden classes First Ridden riders must be capable of riding around the show ring in all paces in a group and to be in full control of their mount. STALLIONS- Either for In Hand or Ridden classes, Competitors Must be 16 years of age or over. Competitors cannot enter the ring once the command of trot has been given. THE SAME RIDER/HANDLER/PONY/HORSE COMBINATION MUST STAY THE SAME FROM FIRST /SECOND ROUND/DIRECT ROUTE QUALFIERS AND GRAND FINAL. Once a competitor has qualified for Olympia in the Ridden section, they are NOT allowed to qualify in the In Hand section and vice versa.

BSHA This is a qualifier for the BSHA Grass Roots Training Championship. The two highest placed Hacks, Cobs, Riding Horses, Side Saddle & Hunters, not already qualified in classes 26, 27 & 28 qualify for the BSHA Grass Roots Championship, to be held at The BSHA National Championship Show in September 2019. Pre-judging will take place during the day with a final in the Evening Performance. Rules for Grass Roots Training Classes: 1. Owners, Riders and Horses, are not required to be Members of the British Show Horse Association in-order to compete in the BSHA Grass Roots Training classes or Grass Roots Training Championship. 2. These classes are specifically aimed at those Horses and Riders who are not regularly qualifying for the major Championship Shows and wish to improve. 3. Riders must not have competed at The Horse of the Year Show within the last 5 years. 4. Open to Horse & Rider combination not to have won a total of £200 in Showing Classes. 5. Open to Horses which are stabled at home or in a DIY or non-show yard. 6. Horses to be ridden by an Amateur (please see BSHA Rule Book 2019) this does not exclude receiving lessons from a Professional showing person. 7. No Professional producers are allowed into the Ring to groom/strip the Horse. 8. Failure to abide by the Rules may result in ineligibility to compete at the BSHA National Championship Show in any class. At the BSHA National Championships: The class will enter on the right rein, walk, trot, canter and extend (with the exception of Hacks). The Judge will ride ALL the exhibits. The Judge on completion of the ride will give a brief critique on this and offer advice as to how to develop/improve this aspect. The Conformation Judge will give each exhibit advice on Type, Weight (in relation to Cobs), Blemishes etc. With regard to the Hacks, both Judges will offer advice on the individual shows. After the two Judges confer the class will walk a circle and the final line up will be pulled in. On entering these BSHA Training Class, Exhibitors will undertake to accept the advice given in the spirit in which it is intended. Please also note that advice will be audible to fellow competitors and observers of the classes. This is a UNIQUE chance to learn and develop ones showing in a way never normally offered. These classes are specifically aimed at those Horse and Riders who are not regularly qualifying for the major Championship Shows and who wish to improve.

Judge: Lucy Savill Class No 26 NOVICE COB - For horses who have not won a first prize of £25 or more, or more than a total of £100 in any showing

classes, at home or abroad, prior to the 1st January 2019. Winnings gained as a 4 year old are excepted unless that four year old won an open class. A novice may be shown in a snaffle bridle. This is a qualifier for the BSHA Grass Roots Training Championship.

27 NUPAFEED / EQUIFEST RIDDEN COBS - Open Ridden Cob, mare or gelding, 4 years old & over, exceeding 148cms but

not exceeding 155cms. Riders any age. This is also a qualifier for the BSHA Grass Roots Training Championship.

28 FUTURE IMAGES LTD / EQUIFEST MAXI COBS - Open Maxi Cobs, mare or gelding 4 years old and over, exceeding 155cms – to be judged as Cobs. Riders any age. This is also a qualifier for the BSHA Grass Roots Training Championship.

COB CHAMPIONSHIP (to include presentation of Mills Transport Perpetual Trophy for the Best Cob in Show)

1st -2nd from classes 26-28 are eligible for this championship Champion & Reserve to go forward to the Supreme Championship at the end of the day

WORKING HORSE/PONY Not before 11.00am Judge: Lucy Savill Working Hunter Horse/Pony, Stallion, Mare or Gelding, 4 year old & over. Rider any age. These classes are designed to encourage the horse/pony and rider to perform stylishly.

METHOD OF JUDGING:

1. Horses/Ponies will enter the ring individually and jump a course of obstacles designed to produce a maximum of 10 jumping efforts. Course Builders are recommended to avoid fences with a related distance.

2. Each jumping effort will be marked out of 10 - at the Judge’s discretion. 3. There is no set penalty for a pole down or run out but three refusals will result in elimination. 4. Fall of horse or rider will result in elimination. 5. There will be no mark awarded for conformation or manners, but a mark will be awarded for overall impression at the

completion of each round. 6. In the event of a tie, the overall impression mark will determine the final placings. Should there still be an equality of marks,

the jumping marks will be taken into consideration - the comparison beginning with fence one and continuing thereafter until a result is achieved. Restricted to 30 in each section.

29 Working Horse/Pony – Maximum height of fences 60cms (2’0”) 30 Working Horse/Pony – Maximum height of fences 65cms (2’3”) 31 Working Horse/Pony – Maximum height of fences 76cms (2’6”) 32 Working Horse/Pony – Maximum height of fences 84cms (2’9”)

Regulations for the Lawford Park Horse Show 1. The Lawford Park Horse Show Committee shall have power to cancel the Show, any class or classes, or to reject any

entries, if for any reason they think fit to do so, in which case entry fees will be returned. The Committee shall not be required to state reasons.

2. All entries must be made on the official entry forms and accompanied by the entry fees. Entries close on 21st June 2019,

Exhibitors Numbers will be despatched before the Show. 3. All stock exhibited shall be the bona-fide property of the Exhibitor, or the exhibitor should have the written consent of the

owner, at the time of making the entry and at the time of showing. No substitution of entries, nor transfers between classes, will be allowed.

4. No lorry or horsebox may be parked on the Showground, except with official permission and a displayed permit to

park. All Cars must park in the public car parks which are free of charge 5. All horses and neat stock shall be shown in halters or headstalls except where otherwise stated, and all animals shall be

under the charge of a competent person who shall parade as and when required by an Official of the Show. Anybody riding a horse or pony at the Show must wear a hat approved by their governing body. Riding is only permitted on the routes to and from the Rings, in the Rings or Horse Lines. Horses found outside these areas will be disqualified.

6. Any objection to any award or prize must be made IN WRITING TO THE SECRETARY WITHIN 30 MINUTES AFTER THE

JUDGING OF THE CLASS CONCERNED has ended on the Show Day, accompanied by a deposit of £50. If after enquiry the protest is considered frivolous such deposit may be forfeited. The complaint may not be dealt with on Show Day.

7. (a) Lawford Park Horse Show, its officers, servants, agents and employees will not be responsible for or accountable to any

person whatsoever for any damage or loss, however caused, to the property of any such person, that may occur whilst upon the Showground or Car Parks or whilst entering or leaving the same. (b) Lawford Park Horse Show, its officers, servants, agents and employees will not be responsible under any circumstances whatsoever for any accident loss or damage, however caused, that may occur to, or be caused by any person or to or by any animal, article, vehicle or equipment exhibited or brought onto the Showground or Car Parks. Each exhibitor or competitor shall accept sole responsibility for any such accident loss or damage concerning him and shall hold the Club, its officers, servants, agents and employees harmless and indemnify them against any legal proceedings arising therefrom. (c) EACH EXHIBITOR AND COMPETITOR MUST HAVE ADEQUATE PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE COVER.

8. In the interpretation of these regulations and in all matters arising from the exhibition of horses/ponies, etc, at the Lawford Park Horse Show the Lawford Park Horse Show Committee or their empowered representative(s) decision shall be final and binding.

9. Competitors, Grooms or Attendants, shall appear in any ring in appropriate dress and with appropriate pass. 9. All stallions are to be licenced with their retrospective societies, No unlicensed stallions on the show ground. FREE PASS ALLOCATION Exhibitors will receive Free Admission Tickets in the following scales: One – Three entries 2 Exhibitor passes Four & over 3 Exhibitor passes

Only one entry form permitted per exhibitor One Vehicle Pass will be allocated per Exhibitor Additional tickets at Concession Rates may be ordered on the Entry Form.

Postcode for Sat. Nav : CO11 2ND DIRECTIONS: The Showground is situated at Lawford House Park. If travelling from Chelmsford on the A12, take A120 Harwich Road, then the third left to Little Bromley, about three miles along you will find the Showground on your left. Coming from Ipswich take the A137 signposted to Manningtree and proceed for approximately 10 Miles. You should cross the Stour at Cattawade and proceed past Manningtree Railway Station, up Cox's Hill and turn right when you will find the ground signposted to your left.
