Leading Practices for Identifying and Supporting Military Spouses The Military Spouse Employment Partnership connects employers with military spouses who possess essential 21st century workforce skills. Hundreds of MSEP employers share information, strategies and connections that support recruiting, hiring, promoting and retaining military spouses. Strategies for Identifying Members of the Military Spouse Community Self-identification Techniques Partners, including Walgreens Co., Member of the Boots Alliance, Volt Workforce Solutions, and TEKsystems, Inc., ask questions during their job application or onboarding process to identify qualified military spouses. Volt Workforce Solutions also uses a survey tool to identify military spouses in their current workforce. Survey results help the company identify pay, location and job title information so they can more effectively promote portable, transferable careers to their military spouse employees. Employee Resource Groups Employee resource groups involve employees who source the best talent, provide professional and leadership development and mentoring opportunities, create engaging and inclusive work environments, while promoting organizations as employers of choice and great community partners.
