WHAT IS LEADLAB PROJECT

ADULT LEARNING, THE CHALLENGE

OF THE LATER YEARSAt present, adult participation in lifelong learningthroughout the EU is at 12.5% for adults aged 25-64.The challenge is making adult learning systems moreattractive, increasing participation in lifelong learning bysetting successful approaches based on an andragogicalparadigm.

LEADLAB PROJECT WANTS TOANSWER TO THIS CHALLENGE

With LEADLAB project we want tomeet this challenge by developing aninnovative adult learning approach,able to foster adult and elderly peopleto participate in lifelong learning,valorising their life experience and the

informal dimension of knowledge.

PERSONALIZATION AND SELF-DIRECTED

LEARNING

LEADLAB Projectaims to develop an integrated adultlearning model based on personalization and self-directed learning approaches: learning is no more afrustrating experience carried out in stereotyped and pre-packed courses, but a customized path built on thestudents learning styles, intelligences, attitudes and

biographies.

A blended combination of personalization and self-directed model and successful practices caneffectively contribute to improve the attractiveness of

adult learning systems in a logic of sustainability: adulteducation becomes more flexible and learner

friendly.

LEADLAB APPROACH

WHAT THE PROJECT WILL ACHIEVE

The innovative solution of LEADLAB proposal consists in:1. to adapt and transfer the already existing personalizationand self-directed learning approaches and strategies to

develop an integrated learning model;2. to create a new professional profile, the LPT - LearningPersonalization Trainer, a teacher/trainer with strategiccompetences to lead and scaffold adult learners.

WHO CAN BENEFIT FROM LEADLABPROJECT

The proposal offers new opportunities in term ofinnovation of approaches, methodologies and tools for:

adult learners, who can access to personalized learningpaths; teachers/trainers, who can acquire strategiccompetences, skill and professional tools; adult education systems, institutions, decision makers ofinvolved countries.

LEADLAB IMPACT

The expected impact of LEADLAB Project is theadoption of the outcomes and results of the project bythe partners, the key actors of the local nets, the

experts, the adult education institutions and the policymaker of the involved countries in a perspective ofimprovement of the quality of European adult learningsystem.
