2020 League Champions

Our league started late due to Covid19 and we played the entire season on the front 9. We scheduled tee times & practiced social distancing. Somehow it all worked out. On October 2nd we were rewarded with a championship match for the ages. On the way to the finals, Bob & Jack (the 13th seed) eliminated Keane/LeBlanc, Kelley/Chan & Hatherley/Moore. The10th seeded tandem of Bob and Rich dispatched Bauer/J O’Sullivan, Kaplan/Bousnakis & Lynch/Bellingreri. With no shotgun start, the championship match went out last. Later, with patio packed, all eyes were on the approaching teams coming up 18. We knew that the match was all-square thru 17. At length it came down to Jack & Rich on the green. Rich was away. The crowd erupted as his bending 12 footer dropped in. Jack’s 10 footer slid past the hole and the match was over . Congratulations to Bob Fox and Rich Barbati. As a measure of good sportsmanship, they insisted that Jack & Bob be part of the championship photo.

2019 League Champions

Dick Plouffe and Robin Lambert defeated JoAnn Johnson and Danny DiLorenzo (3 & 2) to win the 2019 league championship. It was the 5

th title for Dick and the 4

th for Robin.

2018 League Champions

Ed Bauer & Dave Hatherley

Ed and I played against Jeff Kaplan and Mick Johnson. More accurately, Mick and I were mere spectators that witnessed a battle between Ed & Jeff. Jeff was great. Ed was out of his mind great as he kept sinking long puts to win or tie a bunch of holes. He finished with an incredible 79 for the round. Yes, a 79 !!!!!!

If this was a championship boxing match they would have called it after 9. Dick & Ed won the last four holes on the front and were up 5 at the turn. It ended with Skip Kelley and Jim Haker graciously shaking hands and congratulating the new champions on the 14

th green.

In other action, Dee Woodward and Mark Chan had the longest drives on 10, Lynette O’Brien was 6’10” from the cup on 5, Jeremy Berg and/or Ed Bauer were closest on 17 (there’s an explanation for this but I doubt anyone cares). In the Yabba Dabba action, the foursome of O’Brien, O’Brien, O’Brien & O’Beauchain carded a -23 for the win. Second place went to D’Elia, D’Morrill, D’Avey & league member wannabe Steve Bellingreri

2015 Champions

Mike O'Sullivan (L) and Jeremy Berg defeated Bob Gorey and Mark Chan to win the league championship for 2015. They jumped out to an early lead and withstood a mid-round comeback before clinching the match on 16. Congrats to the champs.

In other action, Dick Pais won the long drive, Bo Lynch had the closest to the pin on 17 (plus a low net of 61). John Daszkiewizc won the closest

drive on 5.

Dynasty!!!!!! Dick Plouffe & Dennis Snow Threepeat in 2014

Plouffe-Snow completed the three-peat against Haker-Rose. They jumped out to a four-up lead but Haker-Rose won holes 12-14 to cut Dick & Dennis’s lead to one with four to play. Dick & Dennis hung on though,

outlasting Jim & Josh, as the two teams halved their way to the clubhouse. Kudos to Haker-Rose on their tenacious run and congrats to Plouffe-Snow on being the first team in our league’s history to win three consecutive championships. Will they ever lose???
