Off campus farmers training programme organized by TalukaAgriculture Officer Risod under NFSM on dated 4.12.2013 at village Pimpri Sarahad in Washim district. KVK Karda work as a technical collaborative partner of this training. Dr.Dattatri Principal Scientist Zonal Project Directorate Zone V, Hyderabad attended the training as a Chief Guest. Other technical experts attended the training include Mr.S.K.Deshmukh Programme Coordinator KVK Karda and Mr. R.S.Daware SMS Plant Protection KVK Karda. Mr. R.H. Tambile TalukaAgriculture Officer Risod welcome the guest and gave the introductory remarks. Dr. Dattatri Principal Scientist ZPD Zone V interacted with participating farmers and discussed about the role of KVK mandate in technology transfer. In his further guidance he guided the farmers regarding role of ideal FLD in technology transfer and further large scale horizontal spread of demonstrated technology. Mr.R.S.Daware SMS Plant Protection in his expert guidance talks about IPM and IDM in pigeon pea and bengalgram and clarify the different technological doubts raised by the farmer during the session. Mr.S.K.Deshmukh P.C.KVK Karda talks about the technological services available at KVK campus. Mr. K.M.Jadhav Agriculture Officer conducted the programme proceeding and offer the vote of thanks. All villager and department staff from Pimprisarahad village took the efforts for successful organization of the training programme. ¥ mt'~ leAR Under the sponsorship of Maharashtra State Agriculture Department Plant Protection discipline of Krishi Vigyan Kendra Karda has organized skill oriented long duration training programme of Extension Functionaries popularly known as Training of IPM Facilitator during 14 Oct. 2013 to 16 Jan. 2014. The total duration of the training was 60 days excluding technical gap given in the training. Mr.R.S.Daware SMS Plant Protection KVK Karda work as a Chief technical Coordinator of the training alongwith Shri.D.K. Ranwir and Shri. S.N.Thakare as a facilitator of the programme. Total 12 Maharashtra State Agriculture Department staff member has been practically trained on soybean IPM alongwith other production technology component with practical exposure in the TOF field laid out at KVK farm including IPM Field with improved soybean production technology compared with traditional farmers practice. The Agro eco system analysis in each of the treatment alongwith observation of pest and defender has been taken at regular interval alongwith exposure of conducting the practice FFS in selected villages. The department E.F. has been trained as a master trainer of FFS with major focus on IPM technology. The valedictory function of above mentioned training has been organized at KVK campus on 16 th Jan. 2014 in Chief presence of Shri. P.S.Shinde District SAO, Washim.   • EF TRAINING UNDER DRY LAND FARMING MISSION ORGANIZED

    Under M.S.Agricu1ture Department sponsorshipKVK Karda organized five day duration ExtensionFunctionary Training Programme for Front Line AgricultureOfficer of the district during 18th Nov. 2013 to 22nd Nov.2013. The major objective behind the organization of thetraining programme was the technical backs topping of theFront Line Agriculture Officer of the district involved inimplementation of Dry Land Farming Mission programmein selected villages of the district. Mr. R.S.Daware SMSPlant Protection KVK Karda work as a Coordinator cumtechnical experts of the programme under the guidance ofMr.S.K.DeshmukhP.C. KVKKarda.

    The programme was inaugurated on is" Nov. 2013in Chief presence of Shri. Jadhav Agriculture OfficerMalegaon and valedictory function organized on 22nd Nov.2013.

    During the programme different technologiesrecommended by Dr.PDKV, Akola for sustainable dry landfarming including BBF planting, in situ soil and waterconservation, seed treatment, soil testing, appropriateselection of varieties for different major rabi crop, improvedirrigation method, IPM, IDM, value addition, newapproaches in processing and marketing has been presentedby SMS Plant Protection, SMS Horticulture, SMS Fisheries,Programme Assistant Home Science etc.

    Mr.Ani1 Bonde SDAO Washim visited during thetraining programme and express the satisfaction towards theeffortstaken by whole training team including participant forsuccessful organization ofthe training programme.

    Mr. R.S.Daware SMS Plant Protection KVK Kardaconducted the proceeding and offered vote of thanks as acoordinator. All the KVK staff took efforts for successfulorganization ofthe programme.

    The FLD on Greengram and B1ackgram wereconducted by Plant Protection discipline of KVK Kardaunder rainfed black soil situation during kharif 2013. InGreengram and Blackgram the improved varieties AKM8802 and TAU 1 along with improved package of practiceshas been compared with existing Farmer practice. The resultof Greengram demonstration indicates that average yieldobtain in the demonstration was 6.71 q/ha against thefarmers practice yield of 5.57 qlha with 20.46% in increaseof yield over farmer practice.

    The result of Blackgram demonstration indicatesthat average yield obtain in the demonstration was 7.60 q/haagainst the farmers practice yield of 6.40 q/ha with 18.75%in increase of yield over farmer practice. The summary ofthe result of the demonstration indicated in the tablementioned below.

    Maharashtra State Agriculture DepartmentOrganized Farmers training programmes on pestmanagement in Bengalgram at village Umbarda in Manoratahsil on dated 17th Jan. 2014. Mr. R.S.Daware SMS PlantProtection KVK Karda attended the training as a guesttrainer on IPM in Bengalgram. Shri. Bhagat AgricultureSupervisor welcome the technical expert.

    After formal inauguration Mr. Daware present theIPM technological module in bengalgram during technicalsession. In his technical address Mr. Daware talks about roleof bird perchase, neembased pesticide, bio pesticide,pheromone traps, ETL based recommended pesticide useagainst Helicoverpa in bengalgram. In his further guidanceMr.Daware given the message to the participating farmersthat "Mass trapping ofHelicoverpa with Pheromone trap isthe best Eco friendly approach for management ofHelicoverpa in bengalgram" . After the technical session afocus group discussion has been organized and Mr. Dawareclarify the different doubts and question raised by the farmerregarding pest management in bengalgram.

    Mr. Ingole conducted the programme proceedingand Mr. Solunke offer the vote thanks. All the farmers fromvillage Umbarda and Department staff took the efforts forsuccessful organization of the training programme.

    ASSESSMENT OF LAMBDA CYLOHATHRINEAGAINST GIRDLE BEETLE ON SOYBEAN

    Soybean isthe major kharifcrop of KYK. Kardaoperational area. Inrecent year theSoybean girdlebeetle became oneof the major insectpest damaging the
