Level 1 Read Rosie At The Zoo by Joy Cowley. Can you answer these questions?1. Who did Rosie go to the zoo with?2. Why do you think Dad had to lift Rosie up to see the monkeys?3. What do you think elephants might eat?

Activity - draw a picture of your favourite animal at the zoo and write two things you know about that animal. It might be where it lives or what it eats.

My favourite zooanimal is a giraffe.It lives in Africa onthe grasslands. It eats leaves, buds, flowers and fruit.

Level 1 Read Where is Aunty?Answer these questions1. How was Aunty travelling to see her family?2. How old do you think Luke is? Why?3. Why do you think the family was running late to pick up Aunty?4. Where did the family finally find their Aunty?

Activity - draw a picture of the plane that Aunty travelled in. You could label the different parts of the plane i.e. wings, engine, propellor, emergency doors.

Writing Challenge - “Journey through the Clouds”

Think about these questions: *Why Do you think the birds have sat on the bonnet? Who do you think is controlling the car? If you saw this car above you in the sky, what would you do? What would the world be like if everyone could travel like this?

Story Starter - With a loud roar, the car zoomed through the clouds. Far below people watched in disbelief as they followed the red blur across the sky. The engine suddenly gave a cough and splutter. That could only mean one thing…
