LED Lighting for Industrial Industry

Light in buildings where we live and work, is essential to our wellbeing and productivity. With increasing pressure for buildings to be environmentally friendly and energy efficient, the choice of lighting products has to be carefully considered. As maintenance costs are constantly scrutinised, high efficiency, long life, energy saving LED lighting provides the perfect solution.

Why LED?

Reduced Carbon EmissionsLED converts up to 80% of energy into light. This both reduces energy costs and dramatically reduces carbon emission.

Cost EffectiveThe true cost of traditional light sources is not only in its energy consumption. There is also maintenance over its lifetime, replacement lamps and disposal costs. With LED, these costs don’t exist. LED is a Fit-&-Forget solution.

Safe LightingLEDs emit minimal Ultra Violet light (UV). UV light attracts insects and can be harmful to skin, clothing and artwork. Heat emissions are greatly reduced with LED, which means they are cool to touch and perfect for heat sensitive applications.

Instant Light & No FlickerLEDs produce 100% light instantly, with none of the warm up time required by fluorescent. Plus they are free of visible flicker - ideal to help prevent discomfort associated with traditional lighting.

Long LifeThe life of LED is between 4 and 40 times greater than traditional products.

What’s more, they produce consistent light output over their entire life.

DurabilityLEDs do not contain a filament that can be damaged by shock and vibration – making LED one of the most stable light sources available.

When lighting an industrial environment, the lighting designer has to consider the processes taking place, the risks involved and safety of personnel.

Manufacturing Plants

Whether there is a suspended or conventional ceiling in situation, LuxPanels provide a simple solution, durable, low heat emission, instant, safe, glare free lighting.

50,000HOURS

LuxPanel

• Fast return on investment, low energy consumption and CO2 emissions

• Possible energy savings of 80% compared to fluorescent

• Maintenance free - no lamp replacement required

• 50,000 hour life with consistent light output for the duration

• Environmentally friendly - contains no mercury or other toxins. Fully recyclable

Plant Rooms, Storage Areas & Loading Bays

Plant rooms, storage / loading areas and car parks often have low levels of natural light. Therefore, a lighting design needs to be carefully considered to create a safe working area using luminaires made to withstand the demands of the environment.

Climate • Designed for surface mount

applications in plant rooms, storage areas & loading bays

• Stainless steel anti-tamper clips for extra safety and optional PIR presence detector available to save energy

• Polycarbonate body and diffuser

• 50,000 hour life with consistent light output

Break Rooms & Kitchens, Stores & Offices

Areas such as break rooms, store rooms and offices not directly in, but associated to an industrial environment, require cost effective, energy efficient lighting. LED Batten luminaires are the perfect retrofit solution to linear fluorescent fittings, offering improved levels of maintenance free operation over the lifetime of the luminaire, durability and instant light.

Luxpack

• Surface mounted with Luceco driver

• Available in standard or high output for 4ft, 5ft and 6ft lengths

• Suitable for use with batten mount sensors

Warehouses

Warehouses often suffer low levels of natural light but as an area where heavy handling equipment is used, health and safety is a principal concern in such a hazardous environment. With instant light output and restrike, unlike traditional HID fittings, High Bay

LED luminaires provide 50,000 hours of maintenance free operation so are ideal for high ceiling heights between 6 and 12 meters, offering an energy efficient, cost effective replacement to HID fittings.

50,000HOURS

High Bay

• No maintenance as no lamp changing required

• Instant light output and re-strike unlike most HID conventional lighting

• No exposed glass components so a safer option for sports halls

• Recommended for high ceilings

Warehouses

For ceiling heights between 4 – 6 meters in industrial and warehouse environments, LuxBay is designed as an alternative to traditional HID and T5 lamp, high level luminaires. Mounting positions include surface, trunking or suspended and there are options of integrated presence

and daylight sensors for use with fixed output or dimmable control gear as well as an integral emergency variant, providing a total solutions option to many industrial applications.

50,000HOURS

LuxBay

• Surface/trunking or suspended mounted high level light

• Designed to replace HID or T5 high level luminaires

• Attachments include: Wire guard & Clear flat diffuser

Walkway & External Spaces

Due to their nature, these areas are often constantly lit even when not in use. Clever use of lighting controls can further reduce energy consumption, using integral microwave sensors programmed to reduce the lux level and wattage of the luminaire. This allows energy to be saved without reducing the communal area to darkness, providing a safe lit environment for users.

Die-cast metal accessories

Atlas Bulkhead

• Multiple mounting options include ceiling surface, ceiling semi-recessed and wall mounted

• IP65 Rated - protected against water and dust

• Microwave presence detector option switches the light output from 100% - 10% or off

• Die-cast metal accessories provide tamper and vandal resistance

• Dusk-till-dawn option - Automatically switches off at dawn and on at dusk

All Areas

BS EN 1838:(BS5266-7) specifies the luminous requirements for emergency lighting systems installed in premises where such systems are required There are numerous requirements including emergency escape lighting, escape route lighting, standby lighting, high risk task lighting areas as well as open area emergency lighting.

Emergency Lighting

• A range of luminaires specifically designed to provide optimum emergency lighting

• Self-contained emergency products with control gear and batteries included

• Products to suit both indoor and outdoor environments

• Using latest ISO 7010 Legend format

Lighting Controls

Today’s designers need to consider energy efficient luminaires combined with lighting controls to ensure areas are only lit when in use. With industrial applications there are different lighting requirements ranging from warehouses only requiring high levels of light when traffic is present or heavy plant is being used, to carparks being fully illuminated only when movement detected. Lighting controls can manage these requirements and be flexible to accommodate the natural light when available.

Range includes:

• Low profile PIR

• Adjustable microwave

• High ceiling mounted PIR

• Batten mount PIR

• Ceiling / wall mounted microwave

Stand Alone Lighting Controls

• Automatic control of lighting to help reduce energy consumption by automatically turning lighting on and off

• IP Rated versions - protected against water and dust

• High ceiling mounted PIR - suitable for high ceilings, such as sports and assembly halls

Absense + Presence DetectionPresence - Detectors will switch on lighting automatically when a person enters the area, and switches off automatically when no movement.

Absense - Switch light on manually and it will automatically switch off once there is no movement detected.

Car Parks & Pathways

Safety and security are the primary reasons for Amenity lighting in outside spaces. Due to long operating hours, energy efficient and maintenance free LED floods, lanterns and post top luminaires provide the idea solution. Good lighting design can also enhance an outside space transforming the area to be more attractive and comfortable to use.

Commercial Floodlights

• Maintenance free

• Durable powder coated aluminium coating (RAL7026)

• Alternative to HID floodlights up to 400W

• 2m of H05RN-F rubber cable
