AcidRainTheprecipitationofdilutesolutionsofstrongmineralacids,formedbythemixingintheatmosphereofvariousindustrial
pollutants(primarilysulfurdioxideandnitrogenoxides)withnaturallyoccurringoxygenandwatervapor.
AcidificationBuildupofacidityinsoilandwaterbodiesfromacidprecipitation,whichgainsacidityasitfallsthroughan
atmospherecontainingcertainpollutants,especiallysulfurdioxidefromcoalburningpowerplants.
AdaptedvegetationAdapted(orintroduced)plantsreliablygrowwellinagivenhabitatwithminimalwinterprotection,pest
control,fertilization,orirrigationoncetheirrootsystemsareestablished.Adaptedplantsareconsideredlowmaintenanceand
notinvasive.
AdaptiveReuseAdaptedreuseistherenovationofaspaceforapurposedifferentfromtheoriginal.

AerosolAdhesiveAerosoladhesiveisanaerosolproductinwhichthespraymechanismispermanentlyhousedinanonrefillable
can.Designedforhandheldapplication,theseproductsdonotneedancillaryhosesorsprayequipment.Aerosoladhesivesinclude
specialpurposesprayadhesives,mistsprayadhesives,andwebsprayadhesives.(SCAQMDRule1168)
AggregateBuildingAstreamliningmethod.USGBCoffersthismethodonlyforafewselectLEEDcreditsthatareoften
implementedandtheresultstrackedforgroupsofbuildings,i.e.,theLEEDEBmaterialspurchasingcredits.Thevolumecustomer
reportsthesustainableperformanceforthewholegrouporfordefinedsubgroups,alongwithitsmethodofverifyingthatthe
performanceofeachbuildingwithinthegroupissimilar(thoughnotnecessarilyidentical)tothatofthegroupasawhole.
Similarperformanceacrossthebuildingsisrequired;thisisNOTintendedasamethodofsimplyaveragingwidelydifferent
performancewithinthegroup.
AgrifiberBoardAcompositepanelproductderivedfromrecoveredagriculturalwastefiberfromsourcesincluding,butnot
limitedto,cerealstraw,sugarcanebagasse,sunflowerhusk,walnutshells,coconuthusks,andagriculturalprunings.Theraw
fibersareprocessedandmixedwithresinstoproducepanelproductswithcharacteristicssimilartothosederivedfromwood
fiber.
