Making A Gift In Your Will What Is Legacy Giving? Leaving a gift in your will is a way for your generosity to last beyond your own lifetime. You may decide to leave a specific sum of money or an item such as a painting or jewellery or you or you may wish to donate the remainder of your estate once your family and loved ones have been provided for. Legacy Giving is the largest single source of income to UK charities and is completely free of inheritance tax. Who Can I Leave A Legacy To? You can request that your gift is used for a particular purpose or that it is left to Forth Valley Giving, in which case the Trustees of the Charity will ensure that it is used where it is most needed. How Do I Arrange This? All you have to do is consult your Solicitor. Alternatively, we can offer you free advice and assistance through the NHS Scotland Central Legal Office. Remember, even if you already have a will, you can make an amendment to it at any time. Forth Valley Giving Donation Form Forth Valley Giving is the operating name of the

NHS Forth Valley Endowments Funds.

Forth Valley Giving exists in order to secure donations for charitable services, activities and

amenities which complement the work of NHS Forth Valley and enrich the patient experience.

All donations are held separately from the money

used to provide day to day NHS services and are spent in accordance with the wishes of donors.

There are currently more than 300 different

endowment funds which fall within one of the

following categories:

• Mental Health

• Learning Disabilities

• Elderly

• Women & Children

• Surgical

• Medical

• Intermediate Care

• Clinical Services

• Clinical Facilities

• General

If you know which fund you wish to support then all

you have to do is complete the form opposite.

Alternatively, you can contact us and we can

discuss the various options available to you.

Donations can also be made to the Forth Valley

Giving general fund.

Donations to the general fund will be directed to

where they are most needed and will always be for

charitable purposes which benefit local patients.

Making A Donation Telephone Donations

Cash Donations

If you are making a cash donation, complete the form

opposite and give it to the member of staff in charge

at ward/department level. Never send cash by post!

Cheque/Postal Order Donations

If you intend to donate by cheque or postal order,

complete the form opposite and send it to us by post.

Cheques should be made payable to ‘NHS Forth

Valley Endowment Funds’.

Credit/Debit Cards

To make a donation using a credit or debit card,

complete the donation form opposite and give it to the

member of staff in charge at ward/department level or

send it to us by post. You can also make a card

payment by calling us on 01324 678 543 or online at

www.charitiestrust.org/charities/ForthValleyGiving

Giftaid it!

Gift Aid allows us to reclaim the tax already paid on

your donation from the Inland Revenue, meaning your

gift is worth more to us at no extra cost to you. There

is a requirement to have paid an amount of Income

Tax and or Capital Gains Tax at least equal to the tax

that the charity reclaims on donations in the tax year.
