Secretary ReportWinter nears it’s end, Spring just about upon us, the long dry, seems to be breaking & some good waves to be had lately around Lennox. Especially Boulders Beach & Flat Rock. With really decent sand banks.The July club round was a great day at Lennox Main report follows later in the edition.And the Lennox Longboard Classic turned 21. With 2 different days. With Sunday really turning it on, Report Follows.With the Classic as with every year, the Committee organizing & putting it together, are applauded for their efforts. Grant Ryan & George Leslie co-coordinators. Greg Gover the money man, Boothy secretarial & trophies. Terry Kay gear stewart. CLUB ROUNDS July Round - Sunday the 8th July was the scheduled club round for the club. We mean't @ 730am @ Lennox Main Beach on a pristine to say the least, Winters day. Off shore westerly winds & a small to start with swell 2- 3ft. A massive foreshore sandbank has formed at Lennox Main. And with the vote 22 members decided to have the round. The surf actually got better. It was a morning of enjoyment for all with some stylish Longboarding maneuvers & such a great sun- blessed day.

Standouts for this round were Pictured, Alex Glassington 1st in the Firsts final & Roz Brown pictured above in Yellow 2nd in theFirsts final.And Highest scoring wave with moves from all forms of long-boarding maneuvers was Ben O'dwyer in the 2nds Final.Family surfing of the day were the Leetes Craig 3rd in the 1sts, Mathew 2nd in the Seconds & Tim 1st in the 3rds finalThanks to Craig Leete for the water photography & Alex & Cate Glassington, For all the pics of club members surfing from the shore line

The Lennox Longboard Classic TURNS 21Held Over the weekend August 4th & 5th, over 2 Pristine days. Saturday swell size was very small real small, but favorable winds, Venue Lennox Main. Sunday predicted swell size was less than 1 ft, but it surprised us & doubled up with nice contestable waves at Lennox Main Beach. 100 compet-itors covering 8 Age & Gender divisions surfed this year. Sunday was a Awe-some Day with some really contestable waves for longboarding. Lennox Main turned it on, & it got better with the incoming tide.Stand out surfing rounds for Sunday were the Old Mal / Loggers Semi final on Sunday Morning. with some real old style log riding in improving surf & Nose riding displays to wow the crowd watching on the foreshore vantage spots.The Open 9 ft Final as good as any longboard final with the eventual winner Scott Channon of Lennox Head surfing with his known classy longboard per-formance, winning again for the second year in a row. And in the Ladies Eleanor Robertson of Lennox Head winning the Ladies repeating her ongo-ing performances of 2017. A noted Performance was the Logging style of Dean Sauvage, a junior com-ing second in the loggers final, Styling the log amazingly for his age .The Nose riding of Alex Glassington of the Gold Coast a past Local Junior, Returning from a absence from the comp circles was top class in all his events.The Winners of the Longboards given away were, The Phil Myers Fluid Free Flight Logger went to Alex Glassington on Saturday Night & The Amos Shapes Longboard from the raffle was to Roz Brown of Lennox, drawn Sunday at the Presso. Both Of course totally stokedSponsorship was appreciated from all the local Businesses, Mobile Plumbing Services Lennox was the Main Sponsor. With great support also from Rip-curl Ballina, Inner Beauty Lennox, Lennox Surf, Herron Todd & White, Len-nox Hotel ,Stone & Wood & Sideways Surf new supporting the Classic this YearMonies from the proceeds of the event go to beneficiary Charities & organiz-ations such as The NSW Cancer Council, Westpac Helicopter & Surfing for disabled Association. As we have done for all past 21 years of this event.This event as with all previous years events, thanks the Competitors who patronize the Classic each year.
