THURSDAY 30 JUNE 2016 TERM 2 | WEEK 10
From the Principal’s Desk This is our last newsletter for the term. The last 10 weeks have certainly flown by in a hurry. I hope you will get to enjoy some time with your families over the school holiday break. If you are travelling we hope you all remain safe and have a lovely time. Term 3 resumes for pupils on Tuesday 19 July. Teachers will be here the day before for our Staff Development day.
Please ensure you check your children’s school uniforms over the holiday break. We still have many children coming with incorrect jumpers. Please ensure that this is addressed over the holiday break, so that children are in correct school uniform from the start of next term.
Arrival and Departure from School A reminder that children are not to be at school until just before the 9.00am bell. We have many children arriving far too early when there is no supervision able to be provided for them. Please consider using the before and after school care facility on site. Otherwise make alternative arrangements for your children. In addition, we have other children not being picked up promptly at 3:25pm. This is inconvenient for staff as we have families too and we often have appointments after school or need to collect our own children. Please be considerate in ensuring you are on time to collect your children. Art Show – Winning Bidders Thank you to the winning bidders who have been in and paid and collected their artwork. We would appreciate it these could be collected before the end of the term. Thank you to all of the bidders for your generosity. A reminder any paintings that were not sold will be given to the P&C for them to use in a future fundraiser. Term 3 Events Term 3 will have lots happening. Some things you will need to be aware of - the Life Education Van will be visiting us in week 2 and 3 of the term. All classes will get an opportunity to visit the van. If you did not pay for this at the start of the year, you will get a reminder note re payment at the start of next term. Coastal Kids will be occurring in week 3. Our junior choir and the LSTT band will be involved with this production. School photos will be taken on Monday 8 August. Photo envelopes will go home early next term. These are then to be returned with payment on school photo day. Even if you are not purchasing photos you still l need to return the envelope, as all children have their photos taken for school records. Our fantastic annual book parade will be held on Wednesday August 10. Perhaps start thinking about your costumes over the holiday break. Remember everyone
must come dressed as a book character. We will have a visiting show in week 5. Sean Choolburra will present his show regarding Aboriginal heritage mixed with some humour on Monday August 15. Sport News Well done to Jedd Windle, Jai Glindeman, Campbell Ross and Tyrel Kelly who travelled to Grafton on Monday to trial for the North Coast PSSA rugby team. All of the boys played well and were a credit to their school. At the end of the trial games Tyrel Kelly and Jai Glindeman were successful in gaining selection the North Coast team. They will now travel to Mudgee in August for the State competition. Well done boys.
Have a great weekend and a fantastic holiday break with your children.
Kind Regards, Deb Langfield
