Subject : Installation of a shielded cabling system Cat.6 class E on the new Est Health Pole (PSE). CONTRAINTES PSE TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
• ENVIRONMENT: New very extended hospital site which displays lots of long links.
• PERFORMANCES: Although the initial required performance of the project is Cat 6 Class E. The
selected products are Cat.6A with a NEXT margin of 6 dB.
After several preparatory meetings, our client, who was already sensitive to the importance of the physical layer which is the essential for every IP infrastructure opted for an evolution technology with a
minimum of 10 years vision minimum.
TELEGÄRTNER is also committed in the hospital environment in mainland France (Croix Saint-Simon Hospital, Paris – 13 000m²) but also in overseas departments and territories, in Réunion Island. We entirely equip the new » Pôle Sanitaire de l’Est » (PSE) achieved in Cat 6A class EA, as well as Félix Guyon Hospital in partnership with INEO. The choice of Telegärtner solutions has been possible thanks to the guaranties they could bring, in terms

CONNECTION COMPONENTS :
• Connector: Shielded AMJ Cat6A J00029A0077 : The simplicity
to assemble the AMJ modules was one of the key criterion.
This outlet doesn’t need more than 60 seconds for a perfect
and durable implementation while ensuring a high level of
performance to reach an average 6dB NEXT margin in Cat.6A
class EA
• MFP8 Plugs J00026A2001 are perfect for the connection of
collective such as IP cameras, WIFI terminal blocks, graphical
displays, terminal blocks for the updating of the “ Cartes
Vitales » but also for the connection of consolidation points
and distributors.Each outlet which equips the distributors/
consolidation points is connected to a AWG solid cable. In order to connect them to the network, it is necessary to
have a plug for that. Indeed, The MFP8 field plug is designed
to be mounted on solid and stranded cable with conductor
size from AWG22/1 to AWG27/7 and when mating with the AMJ,
It forms a male/female couple most adapted to networks requirements.
• Use of patch panels H02025A0220, allowing the
connection of 24 AMJ. It is equipped with a removable designation label protected by an adhesive marking
strip B05002A0012, thus offering a clear designation of
the ports on the front plate.

Some places are designed in « covered courtyard », that is to say below the buildings so that they can
welcome the additional beds when events of exceptional significance take place.

2°) Did you say « PERFORMANCES » ?
The PSE site is very demanding as far as its specificity is concerned. It is indeed composed of several
remote and very large property developments. Therefore it presents copper links very often of
important lengths which sometimes exceed the fateful standard length of 90m. Nevertheless we had to
meet the requirements regarding the very elitist performance level with a 4dB NEXT margin and a
Return Loss margin of 3dB.
You’ll find below a presentation of a few graphs from the measures taken on site from a FLUKE DTX
1800 tester and they show that the signal among others doesn’t collapse at 500MHz.
As for the test results made on average and long lengths, the results speak for themselves.

3°) In wiring closets

Its « L » structure ensures the support of the rear
cabling. The use of U/FTP cat6A AWG23 cable imposes
both resistance to the weight of the cables and to the pressure exercised by the cable itself in its management
, which requires the use of untightened clamps Nylons,
in order not to damage the cable.
The paying of attention to the cable management in the
19’’ supports (Cabinet, Chassis, boxes…) is as important
as the implementation of the products quality.
