The Road To Fashion by Josh Trask Do you want to be in fashion modeling? How about be the person who gets to interact with some top celebrities and models? The world of journalism is more fashionable than you think. Don't believe me? I got to speak with a woman in this position who has seen it all in the journalism world. Her name: Lesley Kennedy. Lesley is a freelance journalist for More Magazine and she gets to talk to some very interesting people, from Ozzy Osborne to Kim Kardashian, and truly experience what most people do not. She has worked very hard to get to were she is today. Before I get into her current and future positions, you need to know how she got here. She found her calling early in life. “I have always wanted to be a journalist” says Lesley, “ever since I was very young.” Kennedy started early, writing her school paper, Children's Newspaper, in third grade. She later pursued her dream at University of Iowa where she majoring in Journalism and English. After obtaining her goal of earning her desired degree, she was now able to go to work doing what she has always dreamed of. Kennedy worked for many companies after graduating, including Denver Post, Rock Mountain News, AOL Fashion, and Parent Dish. She has both created and edited many articles about fashion designers, woman’s eating habits, sex, every day dress, and much more. She currently gets to meet some of the top names in fashion, such as Derek Lam and Alexander Wong, and has the pleasure of opening her mind to the celebrity world with interviews and shows. Lesley has a future in journalism continuing to broaden her fields even more. She is about to start work with Recipe.com, writing about women and food. She hopes to enjoy her new environment just as much as her jobs in the past. Her work has shown her so many new aspects of life and she is excited to learn and write about even more in the years to come.
