Lesson Starter
• Explain, in detail, some of the benefits of joining a trade union.
One benefit of joining a union is that union members tend to get paid higher than people who are not in a union. The average pay for someone in a union is £14 per hour whilst for non-union members it is £12 in Britain today. Therefore in the current recession it is perhaps better to be in a union as you would get paid higher.
