->Warmer . This is to get them aware of the adjectives. (5min) S-S A game of pictionary but with the view to specify the object. Divide up the class into groups and have one member of each group come up and get a picture. -A happy person -A long road -A short person This is to get them aware of the adjectives. ->Lead in. (3 min) TTT Show three trees on the board. Point out the one is tall, another is taller and the one above all the others is the tallest. Show three children, again point out short shorter shortest. Show three faces. Happy, happier, happiest. Show three bottles of cola on the desk each with a price. Point out that the first one is cheep but the next is cheaper and …..the last one the cheapest. Show three rings on the board. Point out that the first is dear, the second is dearer and the third is the dearest. -> Pair work. To develop understanding and make associations. (5min) S-S Hand out sets of cards. Each set will have three images of each picture underneath each picture is the appropriate adjective of description. Using the adjectives already used along with new ones, have the students work in pairs arranging the cards. Eg three trees in the order of height Three faces in the order of happiness. ->Plenary Check how each group are doing. T-S

-.>Practice (Controlled) Verbal use of the words (8min) S-SGive each student three random cards from the previous game. Their objective is to go around the class room and ask for the big bigger or biggest slice of cake ect. You can check that each student has the correct cards. Repeat with cards that just have the words. Each student must bring up the cards and show the order. ->Plenary. Check each students cards (2min) T-S->Production Have them write the appropriate word in a fill in the blank task. (10) SI am tall, my brother is taller but my Dad is the______That cola is cheap, the juice is cheaper but the bottle of water is the______Mary is ____because it is Friday, she is ______ because it is her birthday but she is ________because she won the Lotto. -.>Plenary. Check understanding (T-S)->Home work. Using C.Adjectives, have the students write about things they have seen or family in a diary entry. Give clear examples to take home. (give time to outline home work and ask is there anything you need to explain)

If time has gone over it is ok. If the lesson has moved faster than expected then play a ball game T. passes ball to S and says an adjective. The S must then pass it onto another S and say the next comparative adjective. The S must then pass it back to a teacher and give the last comparative adjective.
