During his short stay in the Metallurgical thermodynamics and modeling group Mr. Pandey measured compositions of primary precipitates in quenched industrial nickel slags using SEM/EDS techniques and operated the LEO 1450 instrument independently. He also did the sample preparation and a part of the EDS data analysis as a preliminary step for finally comparing the results obtained with computational equilibrium values, to be determined later in the project by other scientists. Mr Pandey is an enthusiastic and promising young scientist, who is always keen to learn more about the subject he is dealing with. His social skills are good, and he communicates well in English within a foreign environment. Espoo, 24 th October, 2011 Pekka Taskinen, PhD Professor Metallurgical thermodynamics and modeling group
