The meeting commenced at 20.00 hours. PLANNING: Prior to the meeting councillors met at Bowden Derra in order to carry out a site visit with respect to two planning applications for consideration. PA13/04848 proposed extension to Rosewood House to provide two bedrooms, accessible shower room and storage, Rosewood House, Bowden Derra Park, Polyphant, Launceston, Mr D Cash Park Properties Grid Ref 225891/81822. The application has been supported as it is considered to be an improvement to the current building and facilities. With respect to application PA13/04929 construction of dementia unit Bowden Derra Park Mr D Cash. Grid ref 2258/81812. The application has not been supported as it is considered to be encroaching into the countryside. COUNTY COUNCILLOR: Vivian Hall - explained that there is a Community Network Meeting on 19 th September 2013 commencing 19.30 hours at Coads Green Village Hall. It is hoped that the Deputy County Leader will be in attendance. Members of the public are welcome to attend. It is understood that the meeting is primarily for the discussion of potholes within our county, however, residents are welcome to come along and raise any issues that concern them. POLYPHANT GREEN: The work to the trees should commence on 5 August 2013 as previously documented. It was noted that some residents are anxious that the green is maintained on a more regular basis. It is hoped that an expert in the field of the management of common land will be able to give us some professional guidance and templates to work on the future maintenance of this important conservation area. DOG FOULING: It is disappointing to report that dogs have been fouling the new play area at Lewannick. Special notices have been erected and it is hoped that this will not continue as it is, naturally, a serious health hazard. We are also planning to purchase a further dog bin to assist the dog walkers. TRAFFIC SPEEDING: This is a problem throughout the parish. It is important that residents try to make note of the registration number, make/model and type of vehicle and that this is forwarded to the police. The higher logs that are presented will assist in the success of lobbying for potential speed restriction signage. FINANCE:We had one invoice for payment, namely £30 for the printing of the newsletter with respect to July 2013. MAY ELECTIONS: We have had a breakdown of the cost for the election of councillors for Lewannick. There were 10 seats and 12 candidates. The total cost will be £1,338.62 Finally, we will not be holding a meeting in August. Our next meeting is scheduled to take place at Lewannick Village Hall on the third Wednesday of September. CONTACT THE PARISH COUNCIL Letters to the Parish Council should be addressed to the Parish Clerk, Mrs Elaine Cook, Alisa, Medrow, Polyphant, Launceston, Cornwall, PL15 7PS or [email protected]. If you wish to talk to someone please contact a Parish Councillor.
