What is Plagiarism?(From Research Student Handbook)
Plagiarism refers to the act of using the creative works of others (e.g. ideas, words, images or sound, etc) in one’s own work without proper acknowledge of the source. According to the Webster’s Ninth New Collegiate Dictionary (1987), to ‘plagiarise’ means
[T]o steal and pass off (the ideas or words of another) as
one’s own : [to] use (a created production) without crediting the source : [to] commit literary theft : [to] present as new and original an idea or product derived from an existing source.

according to authorship conventions and traditions.

Quoting or paraphrasing material without acknowledgment
Submitting, as one’s own, an assignment that another person has completed
Downloading information, text, computer code, artwork, graphics or other material form the internet and presenting it as one’s own without acknowledgment

1. Your work will be submitted to the detection system. e.g.
Turnitin, SafeAssign2. Your work will be compared with billions pages of other
papers (including your classmates’ works).3. An originality report will be made on every submitted work.4. Your supervisor can review the report and determine whether
or not plagiarism has occurred.
