Life in His StoryPart 3
John 2:1-11 (NIV)1 On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus' mother was there, 2
and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. 3 When the wine was gone, Jesus' mother said to him, "They have
no more wine."
John 2:1-11 (NIV)4 "Dear woman, why do you involve me?"
Jesus replied. "My time has not yet come." 5
His mother said to the servants, "Do whatever he tells you."
John 2:1-11 (NIV)6 Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons. 7
Jesus said to the servants, "Fill the jars with water"; so they filled them to the brim. 8 Then he told them, "Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet." They did so,
John 2:1-11 (NIV)9 and the master of the banquet tasted the
water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then
he called the bridegroom aside
John 2:1-11 (NIV)10 and said, "Everyone brings out the choice
wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but
you have saved the best till now." 11 This, the first of his miraculous signs, Jesus
performed at Cana in Galilee. He thus revealed his glory, and his disciples put their
faith in him.
1. New.
2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV)17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new
creation; the old has gone, the new has come!
Revelation 21:5 (NIV)5 He who was seated on the throne said, "I am
making everything new!" Then he said, "Write this down, for these words are
trustworthy and true."
2. Living.
John 10:10 (NIV)10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life,
and have it to the full.
Ephesians 2:4-5 (NIV)4 But because of his great love for us, God,
who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions--it is by grace
you have been saved.
Philippians 3:12-14 (NIV)12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus
took hold of me. 13 Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind
and straining toward what is ahead,
Philippians 3:12-14 (NIV)14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in
Christ Jesus.
3. Way.
Romans 12:1-2 (NIV)1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of
God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God--this is
your spiritual act of worship. 2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this
world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and
approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will.
