The Devils returned to Prudential Center for their first home game of the 2010 calendar year.The contest also closed out the
seasons series (1-1-0), while completing the clubs stretch of three straight games against the Western Conference (2-1-0).With the
victory, the team improved to 4-3-1=9pts vs. the West. Dallas out shot New Jersey 28-27 overall.
Devils goaltender Martin Brodeur stopped all 28 shots he faced, to extend his own NHL record with his 106th career shutout.
Patrik Elias (2/GW), Travis Zajac (PP), and Zach Parise scored the clubs goals.Zajac added an assist for his 8th multiple-point
game of the season, Jamie Langenbrunner recorded two assists for his ninth multi-point effort.
Prior to the game, New Jersey honored its 2000 Stanley Cup Championship.In attendance were Larry Robinson, ViacheslavFetisov, Jacques Caron, Claude Lemieux, Ken Sutton, and Steve Kelly.

Yesterday, the Devils recalled defenseman Matthew Corrente and right wing Vladimir Zharkov from Lowell (AHL).Both players
had been assigned to Lowell on Wednesday.On Tuesday, right wing David Clarkson was placed on the Injured Reserve List, while lef
wing Pierre-Luc Letourneau-Leblond was activated from Injured Reserve.On Dec. 5, defenseman Johnny Oduya and left wing Jay

Injuries
For New Jersey, right wing David Clarkson (lower body injury, suffered Dec. 30 vs. Pit., 3 gms missed) was placed on the Injured
Reserve List Jan. 5, retroactive to Dec. 30.He is out two-three weeks. Center Dainius Zubrus (leg injury, Nov. 19 at Nsh., 21 gms) is
out four-six weeks. He was placed on Injured Reserve Nov. 20. Defenseman Paul Martin (non-displaced forearm fracture, Oct. 24 at
Pit., 32 gms) underwent surgery last month and is now out at least three weeks. He isalso on I.R. Total man-games lost to
injury/illness: 163.
Langenbrunner named NHLs First Star of the Week
On Monday, Devils right wing Jamie Langenbrunner was named the NHLs First Star of the Weekfor the period ending January 3,
joining Tampa Bays Mike Smith (no. 2) and Dallas Loui Eriksson (no. 3).
Langenbrunner tallied 5g-1a-6pts last week, helping the Devils win three of four games.He recorded one assist in a 3-2 victory over
Atlanta Dec. 28, notched a shorthanded goal in a 2-0 win over Pittsburgh Dec. 30 and tallied his club's only score in a 5-1 loss to
Chicago Dec. 31.The 34-year-old Cloquet, MN native was honored with his second career selection to the United States Olympic
Team Jan. 1 and celebrated a trip to his home state by recording his first career NHL hat trick in a 5-3 victory over Minnesota Jan.

2010 Winter Olympics
Devils' goaltender Martin Brodeur (Canada); defensemen Paul Martin (USA) and Johnny Oduya (Sweden); and center Patrik
Elias (Czech Rep.), right wing Jamie Langenbrunner (USA) and left wing Zach Parise (USA) have been named to their respective
country's rosters for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.
Additionally, New Jerseys Jacques Lemaire will serve Team Canada as an associate coach, while Tommy Albelin will be an
assistant for Sweden.The games are set to get underway on Tuesday, February 16 in Vancouver, B.C.
Brodeur updateIn Tuesday nights 4-0 win vs. Dallas (28 saves), Devils goaltender Martin Brodeur extended his NHL record for career shutouts to
106. On Dec. 21 at Pittsburgh, he stopped all 35 shots he faced for his third shutout of the season/104th career, surpassing Terry
Sawchuks NHL record. Brodeur previously tied the mark on Dec. 7 at Buffalo (22 saves). On Dec. 18 vs. Ottawa, he surpassed
Patrick Roy for most games played (1,029) among goaltenders in NHL history.In the Oct. 3 season-opener vs. Philadelphia, Brodeur
became just the second netminder in league history (Roy) to reach the 1,000 games-played mark. On Nov. 27 at Boston, he became
the leagues all-time minutes-played leader, passing Roy (60,235). On Nov. 7 at Ottawa, Brodeur started his 1,000th NHL career
game.
Calendar year
The Devils completed the 2009 calendar year with a record of 58-25-2=118pts (.694). The clubs 58 victories, 118 points and .694
points percentage from Jan. 1-Dec. 31, 2009 was tops among all NHL teams.
World Junior Championships
Team USA defeated Canada, 6-5, in overtime in Tuesdays Gold Medal game.Also Tuesday, Sweden defeated Switzerland, 11-4,
in the Bronze Medal game.
Devils prospects who participated in the 2010 World Junior Championships included centers Patrice Cormier and Adam Henrique
Team Canada; and center Jacob Josefson and left wing Mattias Tedenby, Sweden.
Cormier (2g-3a-5pts) and Henrique (1g-0a-1pt) appeared in six games for Canada.Josefson (3g-3a-6pts) played in six games, while
Tedenby (3g-3a-6pts) saw action in five games for Sweden.
The ten-country/20-game preliminary round got underway Sat. Dec. 26 and continued through Thu., Dec. 31. The playoff round
began Sat., Jan. 2, and concluded with Tuesdays Gold Medal game.

Parise ties team goal streak record
Left wing Zach Parise tied a team record by scoring a goal in six straight games November 6-19 (7g).

(Apr. 4-16, 93); Kirk Muller (Dec. 15-26, 89); and Pat Verbeek (Oct. 18-30, 86).
Greene sets team consecutive GWG/GWA mark
Defenseman Andy Greene recorded points in a career-high five straight games November 4-12 (2g-4a-6pts).His stretch included:
GWG Nov. 12 at Pit., two assists Nov. 11 vs. Ana. (on GWG), PPG Nov. 7 at Ott. for first career GWG, 1a Nov. 6 vs. NYI (PP/GW) and
1a Nov. 4 vs. Wsh. (PP/GW). In doing so, he set a New Jersey mark by scoring or assisting on the GWG in five straight team games.
Niedermayer brothers
Withcenter Rob Niedermayer's Devils debut, he and older brother Scott became the fourth set of brothers to play for New Jersey,
joining Aaron/Neal Broten, Claude/Jocelyn Lemieux, and Patrik/Peter Sundstrom.
Their 922 combined regular-season games played rank first, followed by Broten (669), Lemieux (441) and Sundstrom (326).
Milestones
Devils left wing Jay Pandolfo needs two goals to reach the 100-goal mark in his NHL career.
On December 12 vs. Philadelphia, center Patrik Elias recorded two goals to reach/surpass the 300-goal mark in his NHL career.He
