ROLL CALL The Lima City Board of Education met in a regular session on January 23, 2014 at 6:30 p.m. at the South Science Technology Magnet School, located at 755 St. Johns Avenue Lima, Ohio with Mr. Dennis Williams, President presiding and with the following members answering roll call: Mr. Dennis Williams, President Mr. Michael Ley, Vice President Mrs. Alicia Anderson Mr. Randall Lee Hunter Ms. Catherine Kouns Born

APPROVAL OF AGENDA

The recommendation to approve the agenda was made in a motion made by Mrs. Anderson and seconded by Ms. Kouns Born.

EXECUTIVE SESSION It is recommended that the Lima City School Board of Education enter into Executive Session to discuss possible employment of personnel.

The recommendation to enter into Executive Session was made in a motion made by Mrs. Anderson and seconded by Mr. Ley.

HEARING OF THE PUBLIC Anyone may address the Board one time per regular or special meeting for no more than five minutes on a given topic. No one came forward at this time.

APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES "Are there any corrections or objections to the minutes of the regular meeting? If not, we will waive the reading of the minutes. May I have a motion for approval?"

The recommendation to waive the reading of the minutes from the regular meeting held December 12, 2013 and the organizational meeting held January 9, 2014 was made in a motion made by Mrs. Anderson and seconded by Mr. Hunter.

RECOMMENDATION TO ACCEPT THE AMOUNTS

AND RATES AS DETERMINED BY THE BUDGET COMMISSION It is recommended that the Lima City Board of Education accept the amounts and rates as determined by the Budget Commission and authorizing the necessary tax levies and certifying them to the County Auditor. The recommendation to Accept The Amounts And Rates As Determined By The Budget Commission was made in a motion made by Mrs. Anderson and seconded by Mr. Ley.


RECOMMENDATION TO APPROVE MEMBERSHIP

IN THE OHIO SCHOOL BOARDS ASSOCIATION It is recommended that the Lima City Board of Education approve membership in the Ohio School Boards Association, including Briefcase and School Management newsletters. The recommendation to Approve Membership In The Ohio School Boards Association was made in a motion made by Mrs. Anderson and seconded by Mr. Ley.

RECOMMENDATION TO APPROVE RESOLUTION

It is recommended that the Lima City Board of Education approve the following resolution. BE IT RESOLVED by the Lima City School District Board of Education that it direct the Superintendent to inform the Ohio Department of Education that teacher Kayle McKenzie improperly terminated her contract of employment, on or about January 9, 2014, in violation of R.C. 3319.15. RECOMMENDATION TO APPROVE JOB DESCRIPTION

It is recommended that the Lima City Board of Education approve the Auxiliary Clerk job description. (See attached.) The recommendation to Approve Job Description was made in a motion made by Mrs. Anderson and seconded by Ms. Kouns Born.


RECOMMENDATION TO CHANGE TITLE

It is recommended that the Lima City Board of Education change title from Administrative Assistant Human Resource Department to Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent. The recommendation to Change Title was made in a motion made by Mrs. Anderson and seconded by Ms. Kouns Born.


RECOMMENDATION TO APPROVE AGREEMENT

It is recommended that the Lima City Board of Education approve the agreement between the Lima City Board of Education and the City of Lima to provide the services of a School Resource Officer to the Board through its Police Department (LPD). This officer will serve as a liaison to assist in the provision of a safe and secure school environment. The recommendation to Approve Agreement was made in a motion made by Mrs. Anderson and seconded by Ms. Kouns Born.


RECOMMENDATION TO APPROVE PARTNERSHIP AGREEMENT WITH LACCA

It is recommended that the Lima City Board of Education approve the Partnership Agreement between LACCA Early Head Start and the Lima City School District for 2013-2014. (See attached.) The recommendation to Approve Partnership Agreement with LACCA was made in a motion made by Mrs. Anderson and seconded by Ms. Kouns Born.

It is recommended that the Lima City Board of Education approve William Howard Roach III and Adrian Lamont Jones as graduates for the 2013-14 school year as both students have passed their remaining OGTs. Title: AUXILIARY CLERK File 513 Reports to: Principal and Treasurer Job Objective: The Auxiliary Services Clerk is responsible for maintaining accurate records of auxiliary funds and
