"WOW wah wee wah" Jesse Palter and the AlterEgo impressed me to pieces on their latest record(latest and the greatest it seems). When I hearJesse and her band rock out-I hear elements ofJane Monheit, but also elements of true soul. Thiswoman is clearly speaking from experience andone of favorite artists of all time posed theimportant question, "are you experienced?" I'msure you can guess who-Hendrix. Although I am arocker myself I had no trouble tapping my toes tothe song Happy in particular as the lyrics are tight,crisp, and full of energy, love, and an honesty thatonly Jesse Palter seems to portray to me in thisparticular genre. Catch a rising star and buy thisalbum along with her earlier hits. You won't bedissapointed. This woman seems to be beautifulinside and out and rumor has it she has workedwith the best in her industry. I heard of acollaboration potentially in the works with GeoffreyKeezer and all I can say is that sounds "hot", andby no means do I support a Paris Hilton quote.Other songs on this record that I highly reccomendare Hot Mess and Take me With you. The wayPalter is able to manipulate her voice is BlossomDearie-Esque in my humble opinion. I enjoy hercrossover work more than her jazz and lets justsay her Jazz is nothing to snuff at. A humblemasterpice in my opinion. So honored to have metJesse after one of her concerts. She is as full ofgrace and life as I expected. This girl has never letme down and neither will the tunes.
