The core element of each state-of-the-art technological device, the electronics play an essential role in LED technology, and consequently in the development of all of the Linea Light Group’s projects. This is because, despite the adaptability that characterises this technology, a printed circuit board designed for a specific product allows us to maximise the quality of the diodes selected in relation to the lighting requirements for which a luminaire is designed.

Timeline

1976Foundation of Minulamp srl, a company specialised in the manufacture of components for ceiling lights.

1985Foundation of Linea Light srl, a company manufacturing lighting fixtures.

1989The first Linea Light collection of decorative fixtures is presented.

1994With the Tràddel brand, production is extended to include lighting for buildings.

2000Tràddel presents the first LED downlight.

2001i-LèD is launched: a family of products for professional and architectural lighting dedicated to the new light source, LED.

2005The Department of Electronics is set up with the aim of developing dedicated power and control systems.The department, to date, has 50 employees, including engineers and technicians.

2008Launch of the DMX512 management protocol, a standard originally used in stage lighting.

Introduction of the Dynamic White technology for light management, which allows to adjust colour temperature from warm (3000 K) to cold (6000 K). This system is used in retail to display goods without the need of filters, and in both public and contract spaces to simulate natural light variations during the day, following circadian rhythms.

2010Launch of the MA&DE Materials & Design collection, a family of products featuring top quality materials, cutting-edge technology, design and functionality.

ClearShield, technology for external fixtures: a pair of power LEDs set inside an ultra-transparent resin body that allows maximum permeability as well as resistance to shocks and weathering.

TVS: Transient Voltage Suppressor, LED protection circuit in the event of polarity reversal, ESD (electrostatic discharge), hot plug, temporary overcurrent and over-voltage.

Inauguration of Light Village: not a traditional showroom but a 1,400sqm-display area with vignettes, lighting design labs and spaces for hosting meetings and events.

2012FullHD: a LED application with CRI 95 colour rendering frequently used in a fashion and retail environment to enhance the correct colour shades and saturation of the products on display.

Opti-3: three superimposed PMMA panels with different textures in order to ensure optimum light diffusion and visual comfort particularly in office lighting.

2014SmartWave: a new series of drivers with a higher level of performance and durability. Characterised by high tolerance to input voltage variations and a long operating life, they are equipped with overvoltage protection (OVP - Over Voltage Protection) and electrostatic discharge protection (ESD - ElectroStatic Discharge protection).

2015Opti-light: micro-laser engraved PMMA panels allow extensive light diffusion achieving great visual comfort. The aesthetic value of this product lies in its extremely discrete presence: it almost disappears when switched off.

Linea Light Group is officially part of the DALI group and is able to certify its own products.

Light Village Milano: a new display area, showroom and lighting design lab.

2016Warm Tune: a special LED array series evoking the atmospheres of the incandescent lamp. When its intensity is lowered, the light heats up and goes from 3000 K to 1800 K, achieving the level of visual comfort described in the Kruithof curve.

Defender: Overvoltage protection system for T3 Type indirect discharges that can be installed upstream of the input of each line.

2017UltraHD: LED application with CRI 98, evolution of the CRI 95 characterised by high RA and 95% R9 value.

Eye WiFi: Wireless light management system, with brightness and movement sensors adjusting thelight in order to illuminate only where and whenever needed. Thanks to a simple and intuitive APP, Eye WiFi allows you to monitor and manage your consumption, compare it to that of other environments and adjust illumination, with considerable energy savings and increased comfort and wellbeing.

TM-30: latest generation diodes that improve colour separation ensuring the right saturation of illuminated objects.
