In the Heart of the Eastern Cape, Linkqage Port Elizabeth started out in 2008 with only two staff members working out of a small office space at Home.

Six months later moving into slightly larger business premises and then within two years expanding to where we are today, in the IT hub of PE, tripling our staff complement as well as stock holding and implementing a workshop with an assembly line to manufacture Custom Cabling and assembling of Networking products

Part of our growth over the last 10 years has been due to not only supplying Eastern Cape and surrounding areas but expanding to the garden route. With increased staff members and ever-expanding product range, we are currently outgrowing our current premises which are a good indication of our phenomenal growth.

Recently celebrating our 10 year Anniversary we’ve come to realize the fantastic support from our clients which has become like family making “Linkqage PE” a household name and contributing to our success.With staff that are extremely passionate, technical and sales driven we look forward to growing with our clients into the next era.

Eros School aims to serve learners with Cerebral Palsy as well other physically challenged learners. Mrs Steyn who is in charge of the hostel informed us that the children had not had new pillows in over 30 years. We all know what a difference a good nights rest can do. So our staff decided to put money together, with help from our company to buy these children 70 new pillows and 70-bed sheets. We hope that we have made a difference! #MandelaDay

Analog surveillance cameras vs IP digital surveillance cameras

It is common knowledge that IP surveillance cameras are far superior to analogue or HD analogue cameras, but the capital cost of an IP system is much higher - but the gap is closing.

Analogue camera resolution is defined as ‘lines’ and limited (480, 720, 960, or 1440 lines) while IP camera resolution is defined as ‘Megapixels’ (1Mpixel, 2Mpixel, 3Mpixel, right up to 12Mpixel and beyond).

They both use the same technology as the old terrestrial SABC TV and those of you that own DSTV HD digital decoders would be crazy to go back to such an ancient standard. So why use it to protect and monitor your most valuable assets?

Linkqage sells a wide range of Sunell IP video cameras and they start at 2Mpixel (1920 x 1080 - which is twice the resolution of DSTV HD) up to 12Mpixel. The IP camera digitises the image internally, processing it for events (movement etc.), reacts to the events, (triggers an alarm or turns on a spotlight, records to a local or remote storage location and emails the operator). You can connect to an IP camera with any internet browser and view the live image and because it uses standard IP protocol, you can do that from anywhere in the world.

You can connect hundreds (even thousands) of IP cameras to a single local network and address each one individually from a single network connection. Analogue cameras must be connected to a Digital Video Recorder (DVR) and each camera must have its own cable directly to the back of the DVR. IP cameras can also be optionally connected to a Network Video Recorder (NVR).
