CLASSIFICATION
The Little Blue Penguin is the
smallest penguin in the world
and are a native New Zealand
bird.
APPEARANCE
The Little Blue Penguin have a steel blue coat
and white bellies. These colours help the
penguin to blend in because from the top they
just look like water and from the bottom their
white bellies blend in with the sky, which
makes it hard for predators to find them.
Standing at only 35-40 cm and weighing only
1 kg, they are the smallest penguins in the
world.
HABITAT
The Little Blue Penguins favourite place to stay is
the coast of New Zealand. Some Little Blue
Penguins have moved back and forth between
the southern coasts of Australia, the coasts of
New Zealand and some small islands.
