15. Breast augmentation

(donated by Salina Surgical Arts Center) In today’s society, it is extremely important for us to feel good about the way we look. For this reason many women consider

cosmetic surgery to feel better about themselves and improve the way they look in their clothes. Because an

individual’s body build is determined greatly by genetic influences, women may not be able to achieve the look

they want through diet and exercise alone. Through modern technology, many women are able to alter the shapes of their bodies. Some choose to undergo breast augmentation. It is a safe, effective surgical procedure designed to improve the contour of a woman’s body by

implanting specially designed materials beneath the breast or chest wall muscles.
