NEW UPDATES RELIGIOUS EDUCATION Classes will begin during the first week of November. ALL classes will take place online the children will gather MONTHLY in the church (with social distancing). Given the crisis of the virus we will ask only $30 to pay for the book and technology material this year for the entire program. To enroll, families must be registered parishioners (since June 2020) and commit to attending a mass on Sunday or during the week as a family. If you are not a registered parishioner you will need to register AND to live in Elmhurst. At this time we are not able to

take children from outside the parish. Registration for classes are open online (stbartselmhurst.org) We urge you to register immediately- there is a limit to the number of students we can take. Please be patient with us- all will be well!

PARISH COLLECTIONS Our parish collections are about 35% of what they were before COVID. For those who are able we urgently need your generosity. EXPOSITION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT Every Thursday after the 11:15 am UNTIL the 6:30 pm masses. Exposition will begin after 11:15 am with concluding benediction at 6 pm. Please join us in prayer! NOVENA OF THE MIRACULOUS MEDAL The Novena prayers to Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal will be prayed every Monday immediately following the 11:15 am English mass. Please join us! Dear Friends, I am happy to let you know that last weekend we re-started our Sunday Chinese Mass at 1:30 pm; English mass at 5 pm and Spanish mass at 6:30 pm. I was quite surprised at the strong attendance. We continue to encourage distancing.. mask wearing and hand sanitizing! We now have 45 volunteers assisting at our 12 weekend masses – they are truly a blessing. Our staff will be off from work this Monday – Columbus Day holiday. The parish office and church will be closed the entire day. Mass at 11:15 am and 6:30 pm will be live streamed- stbartselmhurst.org Our religious education program for children continues to grow. We now have MORE than 400 registered. Registration will end in two weeks! If your child needs to receive their sacraments: baptism. Holy communion and confirmation- register them today! Me sorprendió bastante la gran asistencia. Seguimos fomentando el distanciamiento ... ¡el uso de máscaras y la desinfección de manos! We can provide you with food vouchers to a local supermarket. Since the end of March we have given almost $12,000 in food vouchers to our registered parishioners. We hope to continue to assist! NEED A LETTER FROM YOUR CHURCH? In order to give letters of recommendation, letters attesting to character, sponsor certificates, and other documents that may have legal or religious purposes, it is required that persons requesting those documents be registered and be active members of Saint Bartholomew Parish at least three months prior to your request. We can not provide any of these documents to people not registered in the parish.
