ö All Oulu University students need a student card to access studentdiscounts.

ö University of Oulu has two options for a student card: a digitalstudent card or a plastic student card.

ö The digital student card is the easiest and most affordable one. It iscalled Frank and it is available for download on iOS and Android.

ö You can also purchase a plastic student card but you will also needto get a valid term sticker on it from the OYY office.

・Students cards are kind of certificates which can show we are students.

・And If I show my student card at some places like a museum, a station, the prices oftickets will be discounted.

・In my university, all students have digital student card, but it is just the actual thing. We cannot download it on IOS or Android.

・We also need them entering the library of our university. STUDENT ID CARD

The relationship between the students and the teachers in Finland is verycasual and friendly:

ö You call your teachers by their first name and use informal speech whentalking with them.

ö Students are allowed to interrupt the teacher and ask questions. Theteachers even encourage students to do so!

ö Students can go to the bathroom during the class without asking for ateacher’s permission. We are not in a kindergarden anymore!

ö You can do some quiet activities like knitting during the class as long asyou concentrate on the lecture and don’t disturb others.

The teacher-student relationship in Japan is not kind of a friendly one.

Students in Japan almost always call them by their last name.

But in my Department of Humanities in Japan, there are so many particularclasses which teacheres are close to their students that the students andteachers seem friendlier than ordinary.

The funny case is as follows.

An exchange student from Japan may be too polite to Finnish teachers. An exchange student from Finland may be inpolite to Japanese teachers.

Japanese students spend times for circle(or club) activities after school. Some of them practice before the classes!

It is difficult to make time to study at home…

We can spend wonderful time with friends and we learn many things from them.

Circle activities make your scool life more fun!!
