MEMORANDUM TO: Professor Rivera FROM: Alan Parker DATE: July 9, 2015 SUBJECT: Distance Learning in the Classroom Pamphlet We are very pleased and excited to announce the formation of a distance learning course to be offered at Henry Ford College in conjunction with the University of Brazil. A vacant classroom has been retro fitted with computers and the latest state of the art technology and equipment at Henry Ford College. The class that we will be focusing on is English 135, Business & Technical Writing and Research and will be offered in 10 sections with 24 students in each section. The more exciting part of this fantastic opportunity is that the 120 students from Henry Ford College will be paired with 120 students from the University of Brazil 5 sections at each location. We do understand this is an experimental class and that there may be some language barriers, there for therefore, we have made sure that both U.S and Brazilian instructors are fluent in both languages. Instructors will get together to create a mutual time that both classes will be able to meet due to the time change differences. Students selected for this thrilling opportunity will need to pass a mandatory technology skills test during the orientation session. In order to assist students in this, we will be offering offer a “No Fee” technology training opportunity the semester before class begins. Students will be trained on how to use MoodleRooms, Skype, and OoVoo as well as having 24-hour access to recorded lectures, and Technical Help Support. This program will
