Salaries have continued to rise throughout 2016 with the increase in demand for good calibre secretarial and administrative staff particularly with West End based boutique investment and consultancy firms who have remained competitive in hiring the best talent. The City (mainly the financial services sector) has experienced a slight decline or stagnancy as a result of Brexit, but this is compensated by the growth within the technology sector. Equally, the commerce and industry sector has also seen a slight upswing in salaries in order to attract quality candidates, especially senior secretaries, due to direct competition with the FS sector. Bonuses within the financial services sector have averaged around the 20% mark whilst within commerce and industry around 10%. As we enter 2017, we have noticed an immediate uplift in vacancy levels and candidates are becoming in ever short supply. Clients are operating with a “business as usual” sentiment and the markets are busy as a result. Long may that continue!

Salaries have continued to rise throughout 2016 with

the increase in demand for good calibre secretarial and

administrative staff particularly with West End based boutique

investment and consultancy firms who have remained

competitive in hiring the best talent. The City (mainly the

financial services sector) has experienced a slight decline or

stagnancy as a result of Brexit, but this is compensated by the

growth within the technology sector.

Equally, the commerce and industry sector has also seen a

slight upswing in salaries in order to attract quality candidates,

especially senior secretaries, due to direct competition with the

FS sector.

Bonuses within the financial services sector have averaged

around the 20% mark whilst within commerce and industry

around 10%.

As we enter 2017, we have noticed an immediate uplift in

vacancy levels and candidates are becoming in ever short supply.

Clients are operating with a “business as usual” sentiment and

the markets are busy as a result. Long may that continue!
